I can say for sure that the holy grail kush is a trooper. She never showed any problems at all. The two that were most affected were mostly sativa and I know they are supposed to be finicky. They are all looking much better now. I've heard of Cali connection having issues on older stock but didn't make the connection to the deadhead og. I should just have stayed with the medium I had but of course I like to ask advice and not follow it :banghead: Why start one strain in one medium and dial that in when you can start 8 strains and 3 different mediums for your first few grows...ahh well variety is the spice of life lol.hahahaha perlite works great in coco. I just always say shmerlite because I'm too lazy to mix it in. It should work very well though.
Ya man it's hilarious how many accounts of DeadHead OG going hermie there are so after reading all of them I guess I'm not surprised. Seems Cali Connections had some hermie issues in the 09'-10' seeds from what I understand. That's probably about when I got them too. I gathered all that from forum chatter so take it for what it is. You'll be able to see the nanners because they are bright yellow/green. They stick out like sore thumbs.
No worries man that pH pen shit is never good! Glad you went with a quality bluelab. My Bluelab combo meter has never steered me wrong. I think you'll be ok since you have solid stable genes. I on the other hand apparently do not lmao but I will be vigilant!
Enough about me though. I'm jealous if your progress lol. I'm only a few days behind you and my ladies look like they are a month behind you lmao they look great bro! Just pure frosty goodness!Week 6 flower!
Alright this is the home stretch for these girls! Both the DeadHead OG and Chocolate hashberry are supposed to finish at week 9 according to the breeder. I know things don't always go as smoothly so I'll let them go a bit longer if needed. Got a jewelers loupe coming in pretty soon so that should be a good tool to have. I always did it by eye before, but this will be far better.
I pushed them to the max at 1.6EC(800ppm) at one point. I won't be going that high next time. I'll probably stop at about 1.4EC(700), but things are looking pretty good. I cut Veg+Bloom HD base to 50% and I left Shine in at 1.5g per gal(I might up it to 2g tomorrow we'll see). They will get this mix for week 6 until the start of week 7. Then I will drop the base entirely and use 1g of Shine per gal until the last few days of which I will use plain ph'd water(THE ONLY TIME YOU USE PLAIN PH'D WATER IN COCO!)
Here are some shots of the flowers

Thanks man! I hope I can keep on top of this issue and finish without seed or very little. I like the multi strain/multi medium run. It provides alot of knowledge in a shorter time instead of doing each individually. Hows that spliff strawberry?!Enough about me though. I'm jealous if your progress lol. That's where my head is at. I want to try a few things and see what my best approach is. Its all been a super fun learning experience. Its not like I'm out to get rich off the green rush so there's no pressure other than hitting my goals. I'm headed to see your girl now lol! Thanks man! Got some beans in today!
Can't wait to play with farm cheese!Mine should arrive soon too
We have matching freebies and farm cheese
I know I'm hella late but I've read that in this situation you should let your plant sit in complete darkness for a day or two then turn the lights on according to your new schedule..no idea how legit it isSo far I'm going with the 11/13 for a day. I'm thinking that keeping the 12 hour darkness minimum is the most important thing so 13 is probably better than 11. I don't really have a choice anyway because if I let my garden turn on at 5pm instead of 4pm they will surely dry out:sweating:
I will follow the plan in this order:
If i do that my plants will go through one 11 on 13 off cycle. I think this will work! It should be a better option than going 13 on 11 off. I just don't want the plants to hermie out. I think I should be fine though with just this.:smoking:. hahaha if I would have thought about this more from the start I would have just started my light cycle at 3pm to 3am when I went into flower so everything would fall into place.
- Let lights turn on normally at 4pm Saturday(The day before daylight savings!)
- Adjust timer Off setting to 4am Sunday instead of 5am(used to be 4am but daylight savings will have kicked in at this point)
- Adjust timer On setting to 4pm Sunday
looking like Jack Frost up in this bish!!!Week 6 flower!

Right on man! I feel like what you read drives the main point home. I believe that main point is maintaining no less than 12 hours of darkness if you need to switch your light cycle and that's what I did. So far thing's have been riding out pretty good since.I know I'm hella late but I've read that in this situation you should let your plant sit in complete darkness for a day or two then turn the lights on according to your new schedule..no idea how legit it is

No doubt good stuff chief...daylight savings freaked me out momentarily..I woke up forgetting about it and the fact my phone reset itself and almost had a melt down thinking my light was on a half hour into dark cycle(8am-8pm)...stoner moment hahaRight on man! Soon they will begin swelling up and ripening!:smoking:
Not sure wat scope you got on the way man but I highly recommend this one..I bought like 5 different ones before I got this one...best in my opinion hands down unless you got one that hooks up to a computer
Yea it's top notch imo man...the 60-100 zoom seams to be the sweet spotI have the same one.
The big lenses offer a better field of view.
Hey thanks for the tip! I already got one. It's super basic and was dirt cheap. No LED. I'll mess around with it, but I will most definitely keep that one in mind. Good to know a loupe approved by the fellow farmers. Not sure wat scope you got on the way man but I highly recommend this one..I bought like 5 different ones before I got this one...best in my opinion hands down unless you got one that hooks up to a computer
So pretty. Bummer to ditch such healthy girls. Your plant rich! Bigger bloom area? Can't wait to play with farm cheese!
Nursery Update!
The nursery was filling up so I had to discard my extra DeadHead OG's in solo cups to give my Autoflowers some more space. I still have the mama for now and the Pure Afghan mama too.
They got pretty big hahaha. Sometimes they fell over from being top heavy.
