This room now has 12k. I have also gone back to 7g root pots from 10g smart pots and those 7g now sit within my old UC modules on 4" tall pieces of 2" pvc. no more exposed standing water and algae buildup like before. i dont feel i will see a decrease in yield with the smaller pots and im saving nutrient. drainage is through the UC and i stalled an 11th mod to house the sump pump and the basement watchdog float valve. the media is 1/3 H&G coco, 1/3 chunky perlite, 1/3 coco chips. Full H16 line plus tea's.

Day 26.

Deacon,

I am interested in a coco tree setup with 6 plants in 7gal. root pots, 6k - 9k in lights (not sure yet). Hoping for 1.5+ per plant.

What spacing would you recommend between the plants and the lights? do you do 40inch centers or larger?

I don't want it to be too crowded, as I want to be able to get in there and work properly. What spacing would be the best for this?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I'd go 48" at minimum.

Good luck!

just so I understand..... Is that 48" from center of each pot, with the bulb half way between each pot? making the bulb 24" away?

one more question if you don't mind....

If I were to do a 6 light setup with 6 plants, do you recommend the mpb alternating light setup, or with straight rows like you did? With straight rows, I would need to add 1-3 more lights, yes?

and what are the dimensions of the room above with 12k & 8 plants?

Yes, 48" from center to center. For the plants and the bulbs. Think of a checker board. The mpb pattern is efficient but it really boils down to available space, available power, and available plant count. There are countless combos. I've found that when u stay above 1000 watts per plant for the room average, you should do well.

The 12k room is 12 x 18 with 10 plants.

Nice pics of those buds, looks like a larry x I had. You might try next run to have your lights so the top buds are no more then 2" above the bottom of your bulbs. I get more longer vert branches and the heat does not get trapped as it sometimes can when a plant grows around the bulb/s.Llight plus no heat = buds the size of your head. Hope it all cures up well for you. Suerte JK
