Used to love to dive. British Virgin Islands, Cozumel and Grand Cayman were my favorites. Took my daughter on a dive boat for a week for her high school graduation present. Started having trouble clearing my ears so haven't done it in a few years now. BWTF no diving in Colorado anyway. Another thing you don't do stoned is play golf. ha ha
so putembk, what would be a good 14,000 peak to climb if you're a flat lander like me. last time i was in colorado i couldn't even drive to the top of pikes peak, my wife freaked at the tree line, well she freaked right when we got on the moutain but she really freaked at tree line. the whole time i was there the moutains were calling me to get up on their asses. next time i/m there i'd really like to do some hiking. Can you walk up pikes peak?
yeah golfing stoned don't work for me anymore either. use to do a bunch of blow on the course, thought i was great, but i'm sure now i wasn't....

there are routes to the top of all 54 of the 14'ers in Colorado, Mogrow. Some are mere walks, some involve more technical ascents. All of em will take yer breath away...LOL.

Another storm comin...we hope....for the weekend. We need the snow...bad. Gonna be a crazy fire season if things don't break loose soon... "Simon Says....GO SNOW!"

Bierstadt and Torreys are the two easiest imo. Longs peak is another favorite in Colorado. Do this in August or early Sept. I like a full moon assent. I leave the trail head just after midnight and get to the top in time for the sunrise. Smoking a joint at sunrise on the top of a 14er is an experience to remember.

Agree totally Sky, need BIG storms in March and April. The farmers out east are in terrible shape. We are sending all of our water out of state. Politicians sold our water rights in 1922 and the state is slowly drying up. Now we're in the middle of another drought and things are really fucked up. Happy Fishing.

Anyone looking some outdoor winter wyldness this weekend, come up toNed for Frozen Dead Guy Daze.

thanks putembk, think i'll do a daylight trip first. does sound trippy though. love being out on full moons

Yeah, it's as good as the first bowl after scuba diving. BTW, do NOT smoke before diving, the buzz from nitrogen narcissistic is enough to deal with.
I Was diving at san nicholas island 15 years ago and had an accident at depth which resulted in the bends,I actually came up unconcious and the divemaster(a friend)grabbed me.The nearest chamber was at catalina island,a long copter ride away so i did the next best thing,i smoked 1/2 a J,drank a bottle of water, grabbed a new tank and went back down to 60' and deco'ed myself, ended up with a bad case of skin bends,im pretty sure the weed helped if not saved me,lol. You two ever make it to cali and ill gladly take you out diving on my boat to the channel islands, ive dove alot of places around the world and its the best diving there is for sure.I rarely scuba anymore as i took up freediving,i dont think ive made a dive in years without a speargun in my hand,i love to fish and hunt and this combines both.just looked in my log book, thousand+ dives on scuba and who knows freediving, has to be ten thousand if you count each desecent/ascent though.

Warm here today. Could hit the river, went yesterday not a single hit. So it's hot tub and nap.....
Will rest up and fish another day. Tough choice, nap or fish......

I'm down! Let's make this happen this summer!

I also do a 3 day freediving charter every year on the peace(www.peaceboat.com) tty if your interested, its mostly hunting though, yellowtail, white seabass and big hali's,were gonna hit cortes banks this year weather permitting which is only 25% of the time, the pic you see on the left of the surfer was taken there, bout 100 miles off the coast in blue water but the reefs come up to within 8-10 ft of the surface attracting tons of gamefish and a few great whiteso_O.Its booked this year but spots do become available from time to time.

Wow, just did a 24 hr whirlwind trip to Grand County. Unfortunately mud season is starting, if you don't know what I'm talking about, your lucky. Got all electrical problems handled, only cost me 1/4 zip, and all tenants are happy. Drove down to the Parshall hole on the Colorado and bam there was a midge hatch going on and the fish were going for it. Ran back to the truck to put my stuff on and realized I left my wading boots in Denver. Old age I guess. Walked back down to the bank, found a nice warm spot and sit there for a while smoking a mix of Chemdog #4 and Tangerine Haze. Great day.

Glad to see some are into diving. Wreck Dives are my favorite. Have done the Wreck of the Rhone twice. Did some great diving Off of Guam years ago, have heard that the diving sucks there now because of the damage to the coral by over use. Can see the same thing in the Caribbean is certain spots as well.

Big storm coming guys, better get ready, wind is supposed to cause blizzard conditions tomorrow. Would love to see the hole state get hammered, but the wind could stay in Wyoming.

It's been years since I've gone diving. I'm just looking to wear fins and fuck around a bit, I don't need anything fancy. I want to practice up on my free diving, too.

Since were on diving, anybody know what "no see um's " are?

Clear jellyfish?I used to dive in sea of cortez and come up covered in the clear jellies but they werent that bad, just a little skin tingling.

I'm certain its not what you're talking about, but back in the southeast no see sums were those little fucking bugs that would bite you..but you couldn't see um.

Yup, sand fleas. Will bite the shit out of you.

Roger, Roger. Down on the Gulf and out in Charleston we just called those sand fleas. We called those lil gnats that bite you no see ums.

Lol, all I know is they will run you off. Just put your chair in the water and you are fine, but if you try and lay on the beach..you won't be there long.

Just heard that Denver Water is going to drain Antero Reservoir this spring because of the on going drought. The last time they drained the lake was for dam repairs and the S Platte that connects Antero and Spinney was full of huge fish. I am positive the same thing will happen again. The Division of Wildlife will try and net and relocate as many fish as they can but once they really start draining the lake hundreds of fish will get sucked through the dam into the river below. If you are into fly fishing this is something that you shouldn't miss out on. The lake itself will go from 2 fish limit to 8 so lake fishing will also be very good for both spin and fly fishing. The ice should be coming off in the next few weeks so it's time to get the rod out and get up there. I know the area well and thinking we should put together a trip of fishing farmers . We could caravan up or meet at the lake for a day of fishing and smoking. If you have never caught a big fish on a fly rod this is your chance. WHO IS IN ON THIS?

Let me know

Just heard that the Deckers area is fishing well right now. Thinking about going up Thursday and giving it a try. The weather is calling for mid 50's and partly cloudy. If anybody wants to come along and keep me company I will drive. Can either meet near C-470 and Santa Fe, at the Fort on 285 or even meet in the parking lot at the flies and lies fly shop in Deckers.
Planning on fishing in the heat of the day when the fish are more active say from 11 to around 3 or so. Midge patters in 18's down to a 22 seem to be working best until it warms up some.
This is not an area for beginners and don't show up with a spinning rod. lol Be ready to smoke and even have a couple of beers as I have a tendency to party while I fish.
