hey how's the fishing near Estes early may? comin up on vacation and would liketo relax and do some fishing

Lats year they drained Wright Reservoir and this year they are draining Antero Res which may effect Eleven Mile Res and Spinney Lake. Not good.

Whew! I'm to old for this shit. People fucking everywhere. Doesn't anybody work in this town. Now I know why I don't go to Deckers. Nice fish though, saw a bunch of 18 to 20" fish. Only problem was finding a good spot because of all the peeps. Ended up having a good day, a lot of rainbows have a tooth ache today. Nice to be able to site fish. Hard to do with the browns on the Colorado.

Yup kolah, they are bringing the water down to a lower altitude, doesn't evaporate as fast. Thinking Spinney and Elevenmile will be ok at least until later on in the summer. Gonna be good fishing on the Dream Stream and above Spinney with the temporary increased flow. It will suck the spawner's up out of the lakes.

Sticky, there are lots of good places near Estes. When you get closer I can give you a current report.

A bad day on the river is better than a good day at work.

It's cold in them there hills. Was supposed to hook up with cannarado at Deleney Butes North lake today. After looking at the weather report common since took over and we decided to wait for a better day. I had some maintenance on a rental so I went ahead and went up anyway.
Got my due diligence out of the way and decided to hit the Colorado and see if anything was going on. First clue, there were no cars at any of the parking lots. Didn't take long to figure out why. Twenty four degrees and wind gusts over 30 mph. I lasted about 15 minutes before it was time for a bowl at the car.
Really cold in the mountains right now and has kept the sn0w from melting. Winter Park looked like mid season form. Great time to get up and take a few more runs before it all turns to mud.
I'm going back up next week for another crack at the river, hopefully the wind will blow in Wyoming (not Colorado) and Mr Sun will make an appearance.

Hitting up Winter Park/Mary Jane in the am. PM me if anyone wants to link, burn and shred!

Looks like a great day, should be perfect spring conditions. Driving by there today, will honk and blow a puff of smoke your way.

Fuckin dumpin on this side of the divide this AM. Drive carefully my friend....

Love driving in the snow. If you live in Colorado you learn how to get around in the white stuff. Snow pack is now up to 93% and it's still dumping. Haven't seen the sun for days now. Keep snowing.

Problem is...a whole buncha the idiots out there driving these high mountain roads don't live in Colorado

"4-wheel overconfidence" takes em out daily up here. My phone is goin nuts right now...accident reports comin in en masse'

The avalanches are gonna be wicked over the next few days. Those >down to the the dirt< kinda slides with huge slabs of concrete everywhere. The rafters are lovin it though.....

lol, was gonna say something about out of state drivers with a 2wd and bias ply tires but there shouldn't be much traffic today. Now if they just don't close the pass.
Not only are the rafters loving this...I can think of a fisherman or two on here that is probably loving the fact that there might be some water in our rivers this summer. Oh, I might even get to water my lawn down here in the city.

Hit the blue up last Thursday on a whim. Sight fished to some nice size fish. Caught 4 in a couple hours. Nice cutty about 18"

Snowing AGAIN in Ft. Collins; we're looking to get another 4-6" on top of the 15" or so already on the ground over here on the west side of town.

Sunny today. Snow is melting fast, but there is a lot of it. It will be a few days before the snow melts.
