I am in the process of building a trimmer as far as I can tell I will have $500. In it and it will be just as nice as anything you would pay 5-8k for. I probably already have everything to do a rosin press.

The best one I've seen so far is from Pure Pressure, they are in Denver, Colorado.
My friend was getting 22-26% yields on flower (it was chronic though, not mids) and around 52% on kief and dry sift.

Does anyone else have experience with their Pikes Peak press? The website is www.gopurepressure.com - apparently they make everything here which is a plus.

Looks sophisticated, but $5500 is a hard pill to swallow.

I don't want to Martha Stewart my shit either. Sure, you can save a lot on dairy products if you churn your own butter, too. I just have way too much going on myself.

I need to find something in between. Luckily there are many manufacturers now.

I checked rosin groups on FB and found

You have to be careful. Some of those machines speck out what the psi of the pump/press/machine in total does. That is what worries me about that small plate...... In my mind, small plate = not enough psi.

Last time I checked the smaller the object the greater the psi I might be wrong though :)

I believe you are right! Makes sense, yeah?

Im getting a dry sift tumbler, thinking a smaller micron size since Im using last year's trim... not so fresh. Dry tumble, small screen, short duration = best terpene results? Im aiming for whatever quality I can salvage at expense of volume...

There's so many options availble now, its great. And I know a lot of effort goes into building them, though one can DIY it. I simply don't have the time or interest. That's why Im trying to get advice or comparisons. Too much trim to mess with a hair straighter or a small one, would rather not spend $5500-6k, althought the costlier ones look digital, etc etc

No doubt, the price point is steep. I think Rosin Technologies' press is also well rated and smaller output. I think the Pure Pressure press is made more for commercial level production as opposed to at-home tinkering.

We squished some Shiva yesterday and it turned out really well, the plates are 10x2 or 10x3 depending on which one you want. It's fun to press flower because if the terpene content is high you definitely get a sappier material.

Super appreciate the feedback, bro. Yeah there are units at all price points but small runs come at a cost of time. Its hard to tell from web photos with no point of reference.

I'd deffinately be interested in that trimmer. My 2 trimmers aren't worth a shit lately, and my RA in my hands tend to tell me about 1hr into my.36hr trim session that it's not gonna happen today.

Just finished it , haven't had a chance to test n tune it yet but it is going to be a lot easier to get things done.

Is it a wet or dry? Been rocking a 19" bowl trimmer for 3 yrs. It's holding progress up. Lol. Was gonna pull the trigger on a t4 or centurion, but the $5k tag is stopping me.

Wet seems to run better than dry but it works either way, it's a back yard job, I had a old generator, I used those electrical circuits and wired in a two stage electric motor took a piece of stainless tube I found at the junk yard cut my slots , and tried it out, at first I didn't have the slots to cut wide enough then I had to take the stainless tube to my machines that to get a good edge put on the inner lip of each slot, when I say it saved 100 hrs I mean it.

Are you in or close to new England? You two trimmers can be upgraded for next to nothing, I would have to actually look at them to know exactly what I can do but I guarantee I can make the trimmer better than new. Likely more efficient and effective

What about this one . Didn't see this one mentioned in the thread yet. Says it has a 8x16 plate. Let me see if I understand this... 8x16=128in, it has 12 ton jack that's 24,000
24,000/128= 187.5 psi? That's not near enough right?

You are not wrong, but missed my point. When a machine has a small plate, that means TO ME, that the overall PSI of the machine is low. Otherwise, why have a small plate?
