I’m so happy this thread has began again. In this day and age of subjectivity being king, where everything is questioned by YouTube wizards I found an article written last year before the pandemic dealing with the Spanish Flu. Check it out, it’s only a page or two but very much fits under the cliche”nothing new under the sun”

We should be able to have a discussion about the most important event in our lifetime on this forum. Make some more strict parameters around “incite or inflame others”. Does this mean that anything said that makes someone upset isn’t allowed? Are we able to speak about politicians or is that too incendiary?

Our governor is now stating that we should probably wear a face mask when leaving the house. I'm all for that ... just can't find any in the stores and the ones I ordered on Amazon have not shipped yet.

I might have to make one lol.

I think the biggest thing is sometimes we say things with good intentions that might get misunderstood (or sometimes correctly understood) then tensions rise and things get out of control. While I don't think current events are off limits, how we "frame it" may be.

I've got 35 in my shop, I bought contractors pack last year for mowing.
I think I'll save them for yard work.

I love a great debate but I hate it when I see tensions rise and people becoming offended or angry. The purpose of debates is to challenge ideas and perceptions and cause people to think deeper about their convictions ... not cause a fight.

The challenge is speaking our mind in a way where we get people to think without offending someone. It's a lot harder than it sounds.

Yeah brother as you can see I’ve been here a very long time. As mods have changed so have the interpretations of the tos. It’s nice to be updated with current interpretations from time to time. Not trying to do anything other than ask for some clarity. Peace be with you.

Skunkydunk we don’t get butt hurt, we are here to make this as enjoyable for Farmers that want to learn to grow this sweet weed we all so cherish.
Politics and religion are a divider among all of us. I leave my beliefs and opinions at the door when I come here. This is our place to help each other not divide.
Political and religious statement in general can be fine to a point but generally will escalate and end up Badly for a thread to continue.
very touchy subjects I prefer people to leave in there personal lives.
If people really want to have political and religious conversations you have that prerogative here, it’s called a personal message and you can invite all the members you want to have those discussions with. Not in open forum!
