The setups I've seen show the water squirting down into the res through a thin slot and really blasting hard. Would a 12 dollar pump do that? Or would just a slow waterfall be ok?

Just make sure you run the pump for like 15 minutes so there is a good like 10 minutes of water fall effect twice a day. Doesn’t need to be high pressure.

ok wat u recomend event

ive sort of gome off flood n drain now
No homie, im just giving you all the ins and outs, so no surprises..
You do what you want in your heart.. Its got to feel right for you! You got to be inspired! If you want to come down this road, cmon brother... I be here to cheer you on, listen to you when you scream out at night, I will yell,
( Shut up, go to sleep, there is no such thing as the pythium boogyman.............)
In the morning we get you up early for some over time to keep this dream going....
And there might be a cpl months you eat Ramon Noodles,
but hey,
Im willin, if you willin
:)

I think Joey said he's running his every hour for 20 mins right? He is running dtw though not flood and drain. His plants are monsters though lol maybe I should build up to it.
Ya but i think he is gonna convert to f&d for to save on water. Plus it wont cost nothing to go back if he wants.

This run I just fed once per day and they were getting pretty dry. Multiple waterings will be nice. Two will probably be enough to keep it wet, but now I'm wondering if more would be better.

hahhaha nice
It does piss me off

I really wish people would just stick to the basics

I would never want to ban a company from business
but I would like to steer people in a differ direction

If there was more influence on how much an actual LED costs and what it can do
and if you dont have the money and are in the $100.00 range
lets get you a T-5
if you can go $200.00
lets fit you in a nice 400w hps

these shit LED's are like purchasing a Ferrari and finding out it is a fucking Fiero kit car bull shit

that is literally how I feel about them

actual ripoff
great so you got me googling kit cars now lol!!!
Damn.. Not actual kits like I remember them.. They done stepped their game up!
35k plus shipping.. I have to go see some youtube videos!

looks like they have beefed them up since the 80's!

so gentleman....these are my thoughts on aeration......NOT NEEDED

If you are running F&D you should be watering 3x a day for 15 min at a time

if you are on a drip system
when you water....the feed is being mixed with oxygen as it drains from the tube

I wouldnt aerate your res because the pump alone raises the res temp

I have a $12.00 pump I turn on when I am mixing my res and when I am draining my res

I spoke to Matt the scientist from botanicare about this and the above is what he told me

DWC is a different animal because it is counting on you maintaing a set amount of nutrient solution in the system which dosnt allow for oxygen to the roots which will choke out your roots
but there are systems like the "Kratky" method by which you sit your plants atop the nutrient solution....as the res drops it creates a space for your roots to intake O2
rendering diffusion usless....

my suggestion
save you electricity/stones/air pump...etc....for the DWC

leave the res how it is.....if it becomes stagnet you have let it go to long without changing it
if you are in drip/DTW and the res dont look good
drain and clean well with bleach
then either add bleach or H2O2 to the new fresh res

those are my thoughts....I know it goes against "Hearsay" but I will never steer you wrong

it will create more problems than not in your feed tank

Good stuff bro. I'm a little worried about my res getting too cold so if that happens would the air pump help or is there a way better way to warm it?
