I managed to salvage most of what I melted. Molded them back up

I’m quite surprised at the potency. I could feel one, probably ate about 6 over a few hours. Very relaxing

I used 15g of Afghani in 1/2C of coconut oil. I used half that for the recipe which made 159 gummy bears and 3 1/2 pot leaves which are equivalent to 4-5 bears.

I was shooting for something around 10mg per gummy. I think I overshot it a bit, or I just did a really good job decarbing and extracting.

Did a little quick math...

Assuming I got a measly 4g of oil yield from an ounce that would be 1g of oil per 1/4 oz, which is what is in one batch of gummies.

Assuming 90% purity = 900mg / 176 gummies = 5.11mg

If I would have got a decent yield of 6g of oil per ounce... 1350mg / 176 gummies = 7.67mg

It feels like more

But then I guess you get stronger oil when you soak the bud in the oil, no waste like when you make ISO or BHO.

So again, “assuming”, 2 more grams, because if no waste. That would bump me up to that 10% target

Going to give some to a friend who gets dispensary gummies that are 10mg and see what she thinks for comparison.

Gonna make a batch of cherry tomorrow with the remaining oil. Then I’ll get on trying the other recipe. Unless I can figure the SSHZ recipe to work with the remaining amount of oil.

So after doing some converting on SSHZ’s recipe to get the same measurements as the recipe I already made, here’s both for comparison purposes.

I think I’m going to stick with the original recipe. BUT, based on SSHZ’s 1/2C higher oil content, I’m going to halve my lecithin amount down to 1tsp.

Lecithin isn’t a cheap ingredient. If he can emulsify 3/4C of oil with 3/4tsp. I think I can definitely manage 1/4C with 1 tsp.

Possibly reduce it further after the results of the next batch.

Im gonna save my remaining Afghani CO for another batch down the road for personal use

So I’m decarbing 3/4oz, (22g), of Chem Cheese, all there is, atm.

I left them sit out overnight to dry. They seem to have noticeably shrank up, so they should be dry...

Coted with a mixture of cornstarch, 10X, & citric acid for longevity and a slight tartness

Chem Cheese has been extracting in a double boiler since 1AM while I napped... got up an hour ago, 7hrs now.

Time to shut that down measure out the amount for one batch. Using the “Original recipe” posted above. It’s almost a perfect amount for the gummy bear mold set I bought.

I did cut down the lecithin to 1 tsp for the cherry batch.

I’ll note that drying time is very important.
I left them sit out for most of the day. Then I powdered them, tossed them in a ziplock.

When I got up this morning, all the powder had been absorbed

So now they’re back on a plate drying again

The first batch I fell asleep and they were out overnight. Some of the powder got absorbed, but they still have a powdered appearance.

Now that I got them out for the pic, I’m gonna leave the bag sit out, open, for a few hours.

Cutting #2 just popping roots

So even though the roots are very minimal on those two cuttings, they are definitely in need of some feed.

So I put them in soil

Scrapped the remaining cuttings and put 9? more in the bucket.

Up potted the Sphinter cuttings... Cherry Queen, Purple Betty, & Twinkle Tarts.

Also took one cutting from each of those

The 2 cuttings above died as expected.

I did another round of cuttings, as of 02/28, I transplanted 1 fresh Blue Dream & 1 Purple Betty to soil

I’m at my cabin since then. Hopefully there will be a few more rooted cuttings when I get back in a few daze

A few of the cuts petered out, but I got two this time

So the cutting above ended up compost. When I took it out of the neoprene puck to put in a pot, all the roots broke off

Dumped the cloner, cloroxed it. Refilled and took 7 more Blue Dream cuttings, as well as 3 Purple Betty & 2 Cherry Queen cuttings.

Took down my last blurple light. Took my 2K led from flower and put it in the veg area to replace the blurple.

Moved the SF-2K center on the light mover to finish out the current grow which is just about done.
