It's what ever works at the time under the conditions you have to work with. Really it's all about softening that shell without drowning it... that's all it really is. Temp and rh slow or accelerate the process.. along with a few other techniques I've read about...

I used ro water to soak plugs and seeds. I think last time I soaked the seeds in tap water. I only soaked my seeds for 5 hrs. Might have soaked them longer last time too.. can't remember. .

I forgot to add I have em on the heat pad and cover the shot glass. Like you said though, either their gonna grow or not

I usually throw them in a shotglass for 24 hours
then onto a paper towel in a little tupperware container
for about 24 hours
when I open they are usually all the way growing....like tail and shell shed

but I have a secret

all my seeds are stored in the fridge

so they go dormant....so to speak

so when they get that first bath
genetically they think it is spring and they immediately pop a tail

you can do the same
throw the seeds in the fridge for 48 hours
or if you have packs of seeds.....store them in the fridge

I'm using a heat pad right now but I put it on a timer to 15 on, 15 off... I felt it was getting to hot and drying out the plug and since I moved early to plug plus low rh it's just on other variable that I'm trying to control. Seems to have done what I hoped and is helping regulate the rh.

That's a very good secret there wish... Thanks for sharing that. It's completely understandable...

I think it's important not to dry or cause low pH at event horizon ( stem meets root tail ) or its game over if not corrected immediately. I believe that it pulls micro amounts of proteins maybe amino acids from h20 which have bacteria which aids in cracking the shell and giving energy for it to make it above ground

I meant low rh. Ph prob doesnt effect the seedling at this stage since no nutes are present.

So i woke up to 10% rh in the tents. Thats even with me getting up in the middle of the night and wetting the towel again. So i took a bucket and filled it up with hot water and hung the towel in it thats hanging over the milk crates. Back up to 66% rh in drying tent and 87% in seedling tent,,, but i have to keep misting... so i put about 100 ml of ro water in seedling tray with heating pad on 15 min cycle timer... We see how that does.

well the drying tent is almost done anyway. Im more concerned with the 3x3x5 seedling tent. These lil sumbeaches are trying to make my growing skillz look bad. I kinda looked around and the gsc seeds havent progressed at all since their first crack. All the SD seeds have started towards the top with 2 showing. I cant help but feel that the low rh is the culprit. But then again all the SD seeds are germinating rather SLOW but nevertheless they are, but the GSC has done nothing, since initial cracking in paper towel... Same environment same everything...

pour a cup of water in the tray and turn the heat mat on 24/7

that should take care of it

and make sure all the vents are closed

trimmed some goodies up last night

the smell is so strong.....with sweet and lemon
that it gave me a head ache and made my stomach turn

It does look good... When I kept saying that the bag seed look different it was because I had never seen what REAL frosty meant. I now know. It's really hard to tell in pics just how awesome a real frosty plant looks. Pics just don't always tell the whole picture. ..

the effects are pretty devastating as well

so far I have weighed out 60g and that dosnt count the actual colas.....that is just the bottom nugs

I havnt even trimmed the colas yet
I have 6 colas

I am thinking probably about 100-120g for this plant

the other plant is much heavier than this one

so I am thinkin I will have pulled over 300g from 3 plants in a 300w enviroment
1g per watt....not bad

so I have a technique that I havnt used in a while but I am gonna use for the next run with these
it is called the "1 node go"
so what I do it top to how ever many tops I want....probably 4 per plant
then whack off all growth up to the very top few nodes 1/2/3 depending on how tight the stacking is on top
then veg for 5 more days for recovery
then into flower

produces pure cola with no side branching

I am also ordering a 2x4 lowrise flood table
so I can run more plants
probably 6 which will give me 24 colas

hopefully of monster sticky vomit inducing ganga!!!!

I like that technique. I like big ass colas! Trimming and cutting and hanging was so much easier with out all the bottom fluff. So I might incorporate that myself after you try it out.
