that's why it's in the front yard where he's not allowed unleashed haha thought about that right away. justt hoping it doesn't do too bad of a number on the grass. might have to empty it, move it, then refill it as the kids want to use it so it doesn't kill that area of the lawn.

i posted a boris set that Aman deleted because, well, i blew this thread up with tunes the other night. Caused some server issues. It was... excessive. Protip: be mindful with sharing the tunes going forward. I'm just gonna start posting links instead of embedding the songs because that way the traffic doesn't flow through the farm's servers.

EDIT: also, one of my favorite songs from him. flows great in the middle of a playlist, people respond amazingly well to it.

these plants are set to take off. they doubled in size from yesterday. VPD ranging for 0.4 to 0.9, 78F @ 65% RH, LST 71F - 76F depending on the seedling. being fed 0.6 EC, runoff at ~0.4. pH going in 5.5. a little bit of blade curl and bleaching on the leaf tips but they went from 7k lux to 13k without any transition so that's to be expected. should've dialed back the lights a touch but these genetics are resilient. No worries or issues to contend with yet.

made some of my "famous" chicken tonight. my daughter argues with people about their chicken cooking abilities and swears up and down I make the best chicken ever. I won't contest, but if anyone wants to challenge me, you know where I'm at haha. Tonight mixed it up and finished em with some sauce. Did my normal dry rub, then put em over medium heat till almost ready. Basted with sweet heat BBQ sauce and let it carmalize a bit. Normally just do a dry rub and smoke em for some hours. Based off the audience's reception, I'd say this was also a hit.

all the cacti are yearlings now. all need repotted. those trich's are blowing up this year, really each needs its own gallon pot but i just don't have the space to keep all of them that way.

fuckin hate repotting cacti. their root systems are so fragile, it's always a sketchy endeavor. but handled the oldest lophs because it was definitely time, their roots were circling their little cup. the others are going to be a massive PITA. still trying to work out a soil recipe for the trichs since they're not from barren desert land natively, but details about Peruvian soil makeup are hard to find.

chugging along. partially testing a hypothesis this run based off of experience. I'm gonna label the plants that are showing more vigor and track them through sexing -- my hypothesis is the more vigorous tend to be male and this vigor is expressed fairly quickly starting at the seedling stage.

bumped them up in feed to 0.8 EC. will let the lights ride at the height they are till likely next saturday then will bring em down to ~24" above the plants and dial the intensity to an appropriate level. determined yet another gallon of h2o2 has decomposed to the point of being water. i don't go through the shit fast enough to warrant buying gallons anymore, so will see if the hydro shop has quarts instead. otherwise, the plants are getting just the base two part with some power si. really thinking about switching to front row ag's si offering, not a big fan of power si's consistency at this point.

so, i'm thinkin, as I typically do before shit hits the fan. right now have these babies on 4x5min every six hours. thinking about dropping that time to to 1min every two hours, starting one hour after lights on and ending one hour before lights off. that would be eight fertigations a day. right now i'm draining 4+/- gallons of runoff per day, and that's fuckin excessive imo. might have to play with this a bit.

this is the shit, boys. thinking about crop steering seedlings that haven't even made enough root mass to fill their containers yet. don't see the fan yet, but it's out there somewhere, patiently waiting to paint my face.

Does that open tube feeding saturate those pots evenly? Any channeling and blowing out the side of the fabric?

yeah, each pot receives even distribution. no blow out, the pressure drop when it hits the manifold is enough that as soon as the initial air in the line clears out, it's more like a 5gph dripper (steady stream that drops right out of the tube) than a squirt gun. the pump isn't strong enough to make things hectic. in fact, i'm probably running too small of pump, though it works with the timer when running wool.

Automation allows you to water however you choose. I like that, but for me there will never be better automation, than obsessive compulsive hand watering. Especially at the beginning.

Seedlings look happy tho, always takes them a bit to explore when you pot up to 1gal. Always feels like nothing happens till it blows up.
