Dragons Flame Mac Dragon bx1 in Updated RDWC System

How do you like the hydromaster monitor? Is it easy to calibrate? I'm trying to decide which one I want to go with. I like how the Hanna groline has just one probe but its $$$.

I do like it and I like the price too. I just ordered a 2nd monitor and got it for $225 so real good price I thought, think I paid $270 for my first one. Yea, it's fairly straightforward for calibration, not hard at all.

You're monitoring your reservoir with it?

Yup, it has two probes that hang in the water and give me a continuous read out of what is happening in the water.

How long have you had it? Sounds like you like it. I've been looking for a reliable monitor that is inexpensive.

I've had this monitor for almost 2 grows now, yea it's a pretty good unit and the customer service is good too with the company. I had an issue calibrating the ph probe and they were very helpful getting the issue resolved.

I went ahead and changed out the res, locked in on week 6 ratios, sitting at about 560 ppm, should be able to ride it out to the finish line from here. I left the ph a little on the high side to let it ride down through the 5's as I build the buffer back up to 100%. Going by my ph lock out chart, I've been keeping her below that 5.9 as P and K start to get locked out much past that, at least from what I understand.

Looking good. I know you hate me at this point but those tiny little buds underneath - well you know. At some point I will post a side by side with clones for defoliation. Maybe soon.

That lower res temp definitely signaling fall is here. Don't be surprised if she slows down at this point. Question is how do you want to finish her off? You have a clear indication in 3 spots that she wants to purple if you cut way back on nutes. I believe I see new growth there, I think you still have mass to put unless you want to try to steer towards a sooner harvest. Do you want more of this weed, or what's coming next sooner lol. If you want to steer towards ripening you will want to back off your light a tad, shift it as far red as you can (I don't think you can change it (yet), and try for a cooler nighttime temp. That might be tough, its been really cold there for a while and your plant is adapted. But normally you could drop the res temp and night temp as well as lower ppfd and shift red to start turning trichomes. How close do you think you are? Maybe a trich shot or 2?

Get on it man, these are some choice roaches here. I'll even sweeten with a full sheet of stickers that came with the 3D printer I just installed.

My definition of "tiny" and yours are not the same, lol, BUT that is changing. Have you seen the new Mendel grow I am working on? I think I have improved a lot on this grow in this area and actually taking many branches now and trying to apply what I have learned from you. It's just so different from soil and I have a hard head I guess, lol. I think there will be a vast improvement on this next one, would love to hear your opinion of my perceived progress.

That low temp for the res is only because I had just changed out the res and the water in my holding tank is cooler. It quickly warmed up afterward and is now sitting at 68F.

As far as the finish, I am in no hurry, I have plenty of medicine so that is not motivating an early harvest. I think you are right, there is a tiny bit of new growth, not much, hoping she doesn't start to foxtail, one flower looks as though she might do that. So yea, more weed is good. Jeff says 9 weeks on this strain and I think Max confirms that. Going from flower onset I am entering week 6 so we're looking at the first week of Feb or thereabouts for harvest. That is my guestimate anyway but that could change as she ripens.

When you say back off the light a tad, do you mean dial back the intensity? ATM, that is the only control I have with the light. I also realized it might not be a good idea to switch the light on her at this point, and also, that new light won't even fit in this tent so that was a duh moment I had when I thought I could finish this plant with the new light. Night temps have been 67F, in the day getting in the upper 70's and sometimes low 80's. I don't want to cool it too much because of the other tent that is right next to it in veg. That is about the best I can do at this time.

Looking at trich's, she is obviously not even close. I do see the potential for purple in those injured leaflets, and I also see a very slight bit of color coming in overall, she is definitely puttin on her party dress

I’ll bump it up to 9 oz . But still hard to guess…you could b only 3 weeks away slg..I did harvest a some at 10 and 2 i think at 11 .that’s 8 &9 weeks since onset and they didn’t have all that much amber either .this might b because I only start reducing nutes a week and a bit before harvest.I’m usually at 500ppm a week to go down to 300 at chop..sometimes I’ll just give them straight water last couple days…..

Yes this could be anything. We can’t see what is underneath. Those buds may be bigger or smaller than we think once the fan leaves get stripped.

But I can see why you would want to win, especially since I am now throwing in a Bob Marley poster from the 70s on TOP OF the roaches and stickers. Quite a prize pack.

I’ll take a closer look at the other thread.

By backing off the light what I mean is to lower DLI to simulate late fall. Based on your answers don’t do that.

What I am saying is harvest time can be influenced by the grower. It’s the environment that tells the plant how to grow, what hormones to produce, when to grow laterally vs height, etc. you have control over the environment so you can steer the plant. You could do one grow with this genetic and harvest in 8, do another one and harvest in 10 and the trichomes will look the same on both harvests.

Having those tools in your box is kinda nice.

I’m about out of lessons with you man!

How do those stickers compare to the giant sheet @SpiderFarmerLED includes with their lights? I have no idea what to do with these lol.

Now that's a nice prize too. Easily worth a couple hundred bux.
