my tap water already has 180 ppm of carbonate. is it any cheaper/faster/easier to use ro water and add baking soda?
Man I suck at finding places to by single fertilizers in person, I even tried that Grow More in Los Angeles that JK talked about but they are wholesale only. I just want a place near Van Nuys, California I can go buy stuff in person, anyone no a place? Right now I need all the trace elements.
0.15g/L salt = 150 ppm
0.15g/L baking soda = 150 ppm
10g/L glucose. = 10,000 ppm
it looks like a straight solution, and not a concentrated additive. i'm surprised how high a ppm he recommends. the article correlates why it's better to flush with a very mild nute solution (non hypotonic).
Make your own ClearX is posted by Daniel Fernandez!!

Edit:
I am trying to figure out the components I need, is this right?
Daniel's recommended ClearX
150 mg/L NaCl Table Salt = 150mg per litter
100 mg/L NaHCO3 Baking Soda = 100mg per litter
10g/L of glucose Corn Syrup or Glucose Tablets = ?? or 10g per litter

Funny enough, I've been thinking about mixing up my own nutes lately.
Just curious though, doesn't anyone else think this seems a lot more complicated and time consuming than buying the bottles from the store? Even if this would end up being cheaper, the cost-benefit ratio seems a little out of whack.
If you're spending hours mixing up some homebrew nutes, I'm not sure you have a lot of time to manage your grow room. But maybe that's just my own inefficiency.
:friday:
Maybe I just need more time in my day.
Thanks for posting this folks......
