Dickey's....nice, a little overpriced but not bad for a Texas export
You know your BBQ. I was happy with the experience and I forgot to mention it came with free self serve desert...and Willie playing on the juke.

Dunno what to tell you about properties in the mountains. tyystick.....except that (IMO) the more folks there are around (think Waldo Canyon/Black Forest/Front Range) and the more chances there are of a catastrophic fire. Buy a place away from the FR...pay the insurance/insure it for replacement value...and hope for the best. NOTHING is certain. This I know all too well...

Insurance is worthless if I'm in jail because my house burned down and they saw a big grow sitting there! Insurance company would try to deny me, too. The only insurance policy I'm putting my trust in is the one granted by repeated application of prudence and common sense. This starts with knowing the risks, and progresses to minimizing them while keeping the overall goal in mind.

I might build my own mountain home. Put on a clinic about how its possible to build an attractive, yet fire proof home in a pine forest... who knows? Someone else might think it's a good idea, too!

You'll have to be pretty well-to-do to afford to fund/own a house build w/o insurance. No bank will loan you cash in such a risky situation for a construction loan. (not many banks loaning on new construction/land as it is right now) And hey...what's this about a big grow? I thought you were goin fishin'?

Moes bbq is delicous and so is arapahoe cafe in dillon. But the frisco bbq challenge is today and its the best festival of the summer. They close main st for the day and miles of different bbq vendors from around the country competing, plus free music! Too bad im in Hilton Head right now, but theres another one in Dillon in August.

The Rib House in Boulda was my favorite.
They moved to The Hill, however. Haven't tasted since the move.

If you're travelling through Bailey, check out Hog Heaven....Long time cornerstone.

Nordy's up in Loveland isn't bad, but I think they're from Texas.

That's the good thing about it...lol..it's an import.....There are Dickey's up here now but they are pellet stove cowboys, still not bad BBQ

And there we have my reasons for wishing the log cabin burned in the Aurora Fire of '06. We woulda made out like fucking BANDITS, because I had that shit insured up the wazoo. I tend to 'over-insure' but it's never bitten me in the ass the same way being under-insured has.

Whats the BBQ joint in Longmont? Heard its bombski. Any ideas TK?

The Rib House/ribs extrodinare in Longmont, I think its the same as the one Boulder..Not been to Llano since I was a kid...I have a few I like to hit in Texas..Dats Good in Lewisville, Davids in Arlington, Sams in Balch springs, Grady's in grandbury, Mesquite BBQ on the square in Mesquite, about 5 in downtown and oak cliff that i cant think of the name of...

Texas BBQ is the best imo and they also build the best smokers too,Im waiting to get this new one from pitmaker in houston, bro is gonna pick it up for me and bring it out when he comes to visit so i can save the shipping.
12lb brisket in the old drum smoker this weekend.
LOL at the pellet smoker jab TK,Maybe we can take our leftover stalks and stems and get rich making green pellets?

west end tavern throws a BBQ tent up at the Boulder farmers market Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings, it's quite phenomenal.

Being from the south I never thought I'd say this west of the Big Mis, but...

best fucking gumbo I've had in my life.

Rib House is melt-in-your-mouth fire-smoked BBQ, I really like that spot. FATE brewing just opened up in Boulder too, they're a brew pub with a badass menu (not all bbq but their bbq is legit) and I'm pretty sure their beer-can chicken is the best example of chicken anything I've had at a restaurant. I'll order a side of it no matter what.

There are a few other spots scattered around...no good pit-style though except for that tent at the boulder market...
