Get a AC Infinity exhaust fan/carbon filter with controller. A 4" would work fine for your current tent but would be pretty much worthless for a larger tent. There will be a larger tent. Then get a Inkbird ITC-608T to control your humidifier if you have a simple on off humidifier you will be in tall cotton. AC Infinity will control tent temp with a setpoint,,,, They don't need to run 24/7. Then the Inkbird will cycle your humdifier by set point. You can also set a high humidity set point with the AC Infinity to help combat RH spikes during lights out. The Inkbird will control two devices at a time. Grow life gets a lot better with good simple control.

Are you sure you are supposed to run uv-b for 12 hours? I don't have one, but I thought I remember reading it was best used in doses, or on a cycle timer during the flower cycle. I'm not sure though

But what do I know

It is a bad ass light, it's legit. It's on my future list lol

There are several ways of implementing UVB light, one of the ways is 24 to 36 inches off of the plants for up to 12 hours per day during flowering, the other way is pulses or intervals of 15 minutes per hour each hour accumulated over the 12 hour time is about two hours or 2.5 hours it all depends on what you were trying to achieve I would recommend reading a little bit on the Solacure website actually has a lot of good information

yeah bud, be careful with that. As far as you have it away it's fine, you got the inverse square of power / distance thing protecting you, but if you put that a foot from your canopy and run it all day you will not have happy plants.

I was just thinking about you and even posted some thing while you were typing crazy but I knew you had some valuable information I am going this route rather than the intervals and rather than closer because this is my first grow and I want to ease into everything thanks for the info

who me? lol

In this thread

Should I add UVB Light?

https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/should-i-add-uvb-light.124754/post-2586553 Wattage is 40 per tube, but I have UVA and UVB light meters, which is really what we want to focus on I think. I'm OK with buying new bulbs for this test, we just need to do it really soon.

we had Dennis (founder of solacure) even helping us out.

I guess from my minuscule understanding, in brief time here on this planet what I have gathered is that a small amount of UVB exposure at a distance of two or 3 feet will cause sort of a small stress over an extended period of time rather than stressing her all out at once, my reason for doing this is because I know that reversing small amounts of damage in the long run is going to be far easier for me than trying to reverse an extravagant burn or some thing that I did not anticipate. I’ve been doing a lot of research on how to grow the most premium stuff, and I have been a connoisseur for well over 15 years so I have very high expectations and from all of the nutrients, and different seabird guanoβ€˜s, and lighting, temperature, etc. etc. my goal is to produce very high-quality over the quantity so I am starting with a little bit of all of the information that I have gathered from the most reliable sources and applying it in small amounts

You may or may not know, but this was started in a cupboard with a bag seed from some Ayuhasca purple someone had given me I was originally using aquarium lighting from a coral reef tank that I had, with no humidifier and zero knowledge of anything over the last 60 days I have nonstop researched and learned and literally written handwritten journals of everything that I have learned. I soon got rid of the reef lighting and upgraded to the proper Mars Hydro, I was also able to purchase a nice tent, humidifier, a few fans and all the other necessary supplements and equipment. I then started researching Gaia green products and how to harden my bud and produce more tricombs, I will be using sea bird guano as a top dress along with my Gaia green all purpose and bloom and uvb for this purpose, I have also used Epsom salts, and some other homemade natural fertilizers, at this point I believe that I have everything necessary to grow some pretty decent nuggets I hope you all are interested in seeing how this turns out, as I am very hopeful and I will be posting quite a bit. I’m very excited to see how this could potentially turn out and after this I plan to purchase some quality seeds and document the grows as well as purchasing some better lighting and equipment etc.

Congrats on the UVB! But I would not place the fixture that high above the canopy and run it as long as you plan on doing. I've used uvb/a for a long time and have worked with it in a hospital setting with a lot of testing. UVB fluorescents, leds and even what you get out of hids fades very fast. UVB is hard to make and the source fails faster than most think. Those T5's are pretty much shot at the end of 12 weeks of 12 hour light cycles. And there is no reason to run them 12 hours. All we are trying to do with UV of any type is get the plant to make more trichomes. UV does not increase potency, flavor or anything magical with the terps. At best it makes the plant make more sunscreen. And depending on the genetic profile of the plants your working with it could hurt the trichome production. To much UV can cause the leaves to produce a wax like substance in a effort to protect themselves. But in the end the wax like stuff shuts down stomas/transpiration which is the cooling system and a source of vacuum for a lack of a better term that helps flow nutrients through out the plant. I never ran UVB more than 3 hours and UVA more than 6 hours during the middle of a light cycle to simulate midday sun stress. Enjoy!

I can't tell where the break is, but fyi you can also heal it with some tape usually.

I broke my main cola on my first grow, taped it up and healed up good.

I thought I might link you to this, you seem pretty cool, and this quick guide helped me

How To Defoliate Cannabis Plants For Maximum Yields

Defoliation is a great method for increasing your cannabis yield by removing leaves that block airflow and impede the plant's growth.

Was that scrog pretty easy to make? I'm looking at it and kicking myself in the butt for not making one instead of buying a crap nylon one.

I have a drill, access to pvc pipe, and string I'm telling myself lol

Put it this way I had never made one and me and my fiancΓ© made it in about 20 minutes four pieces of 22 inch long 1/2 inch diameter PVC with four elbows that also have the option to put legs in they are like three-way elbows and then the legs whatever length you need then drill self tapping screws along the side every 2.5 inches and then run one string and kind of weave back-and-forth you’ll get a feel for it once you get going one long string basically keep pulling the twine off the strand and weaving from side to side and end end until you run out and then tie it off on the end and cut it

Keep in mind this is for a 2x2 so you would just measure to fit your footprint just be sure you only press them together not glue sometimes depending upon how large your entry door is into your tent you may have to disassemble it just leave the net assembled and remove the legs and reassemble it on the inside, however that all depends on how you have everything set up I am in a closet so only one side of my door opens on my tent
