That's a good looking plant.
Why are you feeding already? The soil should have enough for the first month at least. All you should need at this point is water every 2 or 3 days.

Many first timers overwater. It seems that you are doing ok on that. When the leaves are pointed upward, they are using the water and food to build. When they begin to lower while still in the light, that means they are running short on water and its time.

Most soil you buy has at least a months worth of food as part of it. The plant will use it. It will use it even better if you give it a head start and mix a microbe pack into the soil just before planting.

Automation is very often the secret to repeatable success in growing. Getting it nailed down up front is a big plus!

Day 17: Pretty hands off today, some slight leaf tucking and LST today. Adjusted PH in my reservoir from 6.5 to 6.2, seems to rise slightly after a few days. Took just a couple pics with my flash on my phone this time ☺️

Day 18: Definitely getting bushier now. They look like crap today after I man handled them to LST. Not sure how much LST I will have to do with these as it is such a squat plant already.

Having a hard time LSTing with the Halos in the way for watering. Also, definitely noticed a bit of a plant smell coming from the tent when I opened it.

Emptied, cleaned and refilled the reservoir last night with fresh nutes. Noticed it was just starting to cloud up and get a bit slimy in there. I think I forgot to put in my H2O2 last fill up. Fixed now and filled with a 1250-1300ec veg recipe at 6.0PH around 6 gallons worth, that should last a week at the very least.

Day 19: Not much going on plants both look healthy and are growing fast. The smell is getting stronger by the day as well already. I will be doing some more LST this afternoon but other than that smooth sailing.

Day 20: I had to do a bit more tucking and LST last night. Also need to make more nutrient solution already. They are getting thirsty apparently. Might up my feeding to 4 times a day to make sure I get the desired run off I want.

I am seeing what seems to be slight nutrient burn on only two tips of plant 1. I will be lowering the solution back closer to 1150ec max of 1200ec. Current reservoir is at 6.1PH due to the rise over time phenomenon in the res with the air stone, and sitting about 1400ec. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Other than that they are growing like weeds!

If anyone is reading this thread 🥱 😜 Just curious if it is two soon to defoliate my auto flowers? I feel they should switch to flowering mode in just over a week or so. They are so short and squat I am just not sure if it is needed.

Did my first mini defoliation just now, only took a total of three large fan leaves in total from both plants. Two off plant 1 and one of plant 2. The experiment continues…

It looks like so far I have about 8 bud sites on plant one and 9- 10 on plant 2. Didn’t get pictures but not much to see from what I posted this morning. Also topped off my Rez with some more nutrient solution. Running at 1255ec with a PH o5.9. Hoping the PH will drift upward as it has been doing a bit every day.

these are the shortest node lengths I have seen on any plant. If I didn’t LST I feel the plant would still only be like 8 inches high. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I also turned my lights down to 45% a few days ago and almost all alligatoring is gone. I will start ramping the lights back up as the plants start taking off a bit more and I increase my feedings to 4 times a day during lights on.

Again any and all feedback is appreciated as long as it is informed and friendly. ❤️☺️

I’m in 70/30 coco/perl so needed some mild nutrients as well as cal mag ASAP.

Yeah so far my DIY automation rig is running perfectly. I spent many years automating large saltwater tanks. My current is 250g and everything is tracked and monitored and automated from PH, ORP, salinity, to calcium and other additions for my corals. I even automated water changes so I just have to hit a button and it will do a 50% water change at the hit of a button on my phone. 🤓🤷🏻‍♂️

Sweet. I want to automate it to the point that I press a button and the waiter brings me a spliff.

I did computers and electronics for years. One day I woke up and was sick of it.
Who knows why. I understand a lot of it but it's been 20 years since I even looked at a soldering iron.
So, I can fully get behind you and push you towards that idea! LOL

Day 21: Last day of week three of veg. Everything is looking real good ( I think ). No noticable deficiencies or ailments.

Today I will just be checking reservoir PH and EC then maybe talking to them for a bit as I tuck leaves and continue to lst what I can with these shorties.

see you in week 4 starting tomorrow! Happy farming!

So big news!!!!

Ready for it?

I finally decided on names for the plants. I am naming Plant 1 - River Song and plant 2 - Clara Oswald….

Now without google who can tell me where those names come from… 🤓

Day 22: Well we made it to the beginning of week 4! Who would of thunk! So we are starting week 4 on a good foot. No issues at this time and growing really well. Clara (plant 2) Did start showing a little sign of Nitrogen toxicity, but I did lower nutes 3-4 days ago. And I don’t seem to see any indication on the new growth.

Still such a squat plant. The nodes spacing is only like a half inch apart. WTH 🤷🏻‍♂️

Other than that the PH in my reservoir is dropping, usually it rises a bit everyday. I will have to remedy that before my midday feeding. I mean it was at 5.85-5.9PH so not out of whack but I was hoping for a drift of 5.9-61ish before I had to do a top off or change of the solution.

Did some more light LST and leaf tucking last night before bed and will probably have to do more this afternoon. This plant is still way to short and thick to start SCroG yet, but I bet after this week it will be ready.

Starting to see some nice healthy looking roots poking out of my fabric pots. I hope this is a good sign. I will try and get photos of that phenomenon tomorrow.

Looking good Bro.
Thanks man it has been a whirlwind of learning about growing and patience! Had a disturbing issue today though. I have two PH meters one cheap and one from a nute place. Both were within .6 of each other in a 7.0 solution. But when I measured my reservoir one ready 5.6 the other 6.1. Not sure why both are freshly calibrated and not sure which to trust lol….
