I live in Southern California, in suburban sprawl. There isn't much outdoor growing around here. I was referring to people dumping their pesticide ridden water all over. The bee populations around here are in pretty serious danger.
Yea I don't even want to use it on my plants and i never have I typically use Neem oil and pest out, but I have bugs in my room and now that all my plants are outside i wanted to spray the entire room about 3 or 4 times to make sure everything is dead before i bring them in to dry them thats all that i wanted it for. Believe me i would never use something like that directly on my plants. I just want these things out of my room and then keep better practices about keeping them out of there
floramite kicks ass and can be bought at 80% of hydro stores in nocal (unlabeled)
You cant get rid of pests without pest control. If you have mites and leave them alone without constant checking and using the correct procedure for avoiding mites then you will be in for a heavy infestation that will ruin you crop and put that growing space out of action for a very long time (its not a pretty site) as i had to do with one particular growroom as they will just hibernate anywher the wind blows until you think its safe to grow again and BOOM you will get another hit. The growroom i am talking about had this happen 2 times befrore i sealed and sorted the problem. Beat the mites before they beat you and when they do you will be gutted as i was. I take no chances with mites and use floramite to avoid any problems occuring as its easy to prevent than fight the borg. You wont win the battle of the mites without 100% commitment to avoiding and maintaining you growroom BEFORE the problem occurs. The devistation of being beat by mites or having an infestation really makes you think twice and understand how important mite control is. I dont want mites flying around my house causing all areas to be infested. Mites cant fly and we call them hitch hikers here as they blow around in the air and attatch themselves to you or anything else you bring indoors. Thats why my room is 100% sterile and bug free.
LUDA.
:worried
See what happened is I went for 3 years spraying them all with neem and pest out as prevention and then this year i got kinda ballsy and said "well I don't have any mites here" and stopped spraying (stupid stupid move) then i went of vacation and came back and they were infested and i started spraying them again and it was knocking them down then I put them in my greenhouse with some lady bugs and that really knocked them down now nothings in the room anymore and I'm trying to totally eradicate all living bugs in my room and stay on top of it and keep it that way.
Are you the masked bee killer ??
lol.
:)
LOL
More like the masked bee avenger. Protect the pollinators!
No. You didnt.
This needs bells put upon it.Just buy it on ebay, and send it to him as a "gift". Or give him the dough and have him buy it (don't forget to kick in extra to ship it to you, and extra for him being a good friend!) He can send it to you shortly thereafter. ;)
edit: Please please PLEASE for the love of gawd, use them wisely and responsibly. Don't be responsible for breeding the next "Mendo Super Mite". :anim_09:
I'm interested, will look into this. Its only abut 4 classes (Plant science, integrated Pest mgmt, Pesticide Laws and Regulations, and i forget the last one) and you can take the test to be licensed to buy/use those products in Cali. Its worth it.
Every year I have bees all over my girls, and damn if I can figure out what they're there for. I see them licking the leaves, literally.Bees ?????.
They dont feed on cannabis plants and hate the smell of canna plants in my growing experience.
Bees like pollen. that's what honey is made up of. pollen and bee spit. pollen contains minimal if any THC. the bees will end up seeding everything.
:worried
Someone who's experienced mites that are resistant to NPS, most likely.
.
Bees feed on pollen and dont pollenate your female plants as they remove it and thats a good thing.
CHRIS.
:)
I keep re-reading your post because I feel like I must not be getting what you're trying to say. Maybe that's because you seem to only be considering the bee population's effect on cannabis.
I'm with Seamaiden... Bees eat pollen and carry the nectar back, which is what is used to make honey. Although they eat pollen, they still will pollinate anything they touch because they carry the pollen all over their furry little bodies. They can pollinate cannabis but don't need to since mj pollen can be windborne. I'm sure MJ isn't a bee's favorite plant to visit.
All of my comments were concerning the importance of bees in generally pollinating most of what you see outside. If people keep dumping pesticide waste all over, they will eventually destroy the already threatened bee population. Maybe it's not an issue in Scotland, but it is in Southern California and a lot of the US, a 30-70% decline depending on the area.
Buddy Hemphill: SoCal mites are resistant to NPS. I've seen them climbing on the plastic case, very good proof of the pesticide-resistance issue discussed here. Also, I think people object to NPS more because they presents a more immediate danger to the farmer. People are still trying to work out if the presence of certain pesticides sprayed on vegging plants is found in the bud once they've bloomed (assuming people aren't using these things on blooming plants, which I realize they are, and assuming people are talking precautions during spraying, which I am sure they are not always). A lot of farmers run sealed rooms. Even the NPS manufacturer admits you shouldn't be in a sealed room with those things. That danger is more real and immediate, at least that's my guess why I think they bother people more.
