It's one of my brothers ideas. Goldfish eat the dead root material, agitate and keep the roots healthy. Plus he says the poop might be that little extra something he's
been looking for.

and people call me crazy,,,,

His name is Madds. Go figure

Who knows what will happen. These Plants have about 70 days to go in flower.

We've got the time, we've got the space, what the heck? We might learn a new trick or twoski.

This should be FUN. C'mon have a laugh, or two, at our expense.

btw, just dropped #2 in and she's still swimming.

Nutes are at 650 ppm GH Veg & Bloom

Awesome man! The only downfall I see is the nutes not being able to get too high. Look up a torrent called aquaponics to give you some awesome ideas. I know its on thepiratebay, but if you arent using FF with adblock dont even try that site.

Good luck.. :)

wanna bet goldfish can handle extreme ppm's

they just have to work up to it ...

i have seen carp in brackish water no problem....

they help the bennies as well nothing like real daily fish emulsion ...

i always run aquarium filters in my rez for the extra bio activity...

Thanks guys,,,,

Just something mvf wants done. We'll see how this works.
He's given me a detailed list of what he wants in the coolers.

Rule of his thumb is never over 650 ppm.

Thanks for the tips on this, I'm sure I'll be hunting down more info as we go along.

With a name like Madds,

it's what we expect.

Step by step to the ultimate goal. No rushing results.

My Brother has a mind that's hard to keep up with.

I'm still busting my arse-end on this Flower Lab.

He keeps throwing sh*t at me like I have no life outside the Labs,,,
Wait a minute, crap, I don't,,,,,,,,,,,

The (you know yer a grower when,,,) syndrome.

Crazy is, as Madds does,,,,,,
and I keep traipsing along, sucked into the whirlpool,,,,,,,

All 6 are healthy and thriving at 8:30 am, Sunday.

Just about twelve hours into it.

One more hurdle passed.

Maybe your brother just needs some Medds. Cool fish experiment, I was so hoping to see a catfish used, they are tough as hell living in polluted rivers, I'm sure they could handle 1200 ppm with lots of air bubblers.

Yeah, aquaponics. Done that experiment already. I ran an entire 5g DWC bucket from start to finish on pure goldfish water, no added nutes. It worked great, probably better than the ones on water soluables. Get a good biofilter going in there to convert the fresh ammonia in the fish poop into usable nitrites and nitrates and you'll really be jamming. The biofilter is a good idea anyway even without fish. It can go a long ways towards stabilizing PH and making water soluable salt nutrients, not to mention sugars and carb additives, more palatable to plants.

You a catfish fan? What species would you use in this kind of situation?

The little Cory Cats are pretty hardy, but they need the water at least 70

Mmm... corydoras. I like catfishes, but I'm not crazy about them the way some people are. Some people are pretty nuts about catfish.

Another good choice would probably be small or dwarf cichlids, Africans from Malawi and Tanganyika would be my choice.
