GROW DIARY: Hilltopfarms' new 12kw room 1st run

This is not the first time I've heard about mixing Hydroton/Coco 50% with awesome results.. I used to use hydroton in my planter base to assure drainage and upon harvest had to pull roots out of them.. plus rinse and reuse is always nice.. I might try this coming up with winter as my next run will be SOG style.. give me time to design. I can tell ya since I switched to pure Coco instead of mixing soils into it, and going to Canna Coco A\B..a little ZHO and my roots are peeking
out the bottom of 3gal pots at day 30 of flowering.. each transplanting you see larger bright white root zones.. instead of brown smashed up roots.. so I'm sold on these nutes and Coco..with your help, I can tweek this just right..

D-bud Giesel is a tasty plant. I really liked it. Have been hunting it actually.

The buddy who gifted me the cuts had quite the collection of elite strains and sent me assorted ones anyone would be happy to have..but I only have room for that one mom ya know..so I had a contest between the following and Giesel, which he calls Pussy Willow because he can't stand the name Giesel.. lol. check out this list it fought through to win.
Ray Davies C99, Pre98 BK, Golden Goat, Chemdogs Sister, Purple Urkle....and Giesel.
Rated them as follows:
Giesel, GG, C99, PU, CSis...not sure the Pre98 was the real cut.. quite the tasty test, but Giesel won hands down for so many reasons.. sorry to get a bit off topic here.. back to the bud porn here.. and man do they look tasty.

Ya man, that pre98 is a hard one to come by... it took us years and like 10-15 bubbas to find the one that is the real pre98 and it is a killer strain. We've got two monsters of it in our 12kw room right now and we're pretty excited about em

I recently switched to 50/50 coco/hydroton and I'm very pleased with early results.

Bro if it takes 30 days for you to see roots, you must be doing something wrong, because I when I tranpsplanted unhealthy, damaged plants ito my 5 gallon buckets (filled to the 3 gallon mark with mix) they shot lots of roots through the drain holes in less than a week! Maybe water less at first? The coco doesn't need to be soaking wet- and keeping it a little dry stimulates the roots to search for water.

What can I say but I bow in your direction.. you guys here are some top notch growers and my little closet just will never compete running only a little 600w hps light.. I"ll just keep reading and learning what I can and I appreciate any guidance

Just moved plants into the third bedroom at our other house and started vegging... we officially have 2 12kw houses now... we're pretty stoked!

The first house has two rooms with 4 1000s, one room with 5 600s and 1 1000 and a veg with 3 400s... The second house is a garage with 21 600s (3 for veg)
