Well I’ve never gotten more than 3 oz on a harvest and that was my one plant outdoors this summer. It would be nice to have enough to carry me until the next harvest. If I do coco, they will be hand watered.

your 3 oz outdoor plant was that a container grow? Ever tried the ground or an open bottom garden bed?

Feeling pretty blessed today. Also pretty fucking stoned. My friend/neighbor left me a bag of the end of last year’s harvest from her dad. I made salve for her dad the week before (salve her fiancé mistakenly used as butter on toast). Most of it is really larfy but I picked through it and kept 15 g to smoke (it is homegrown and not very tasty but does the job), and the other 48 g are in the oven decarbing as we speak. I’m going to make some butter as well as coconut oil this time and I want to see how it goes using water with the butter as well as with the coconut oil to see if the chlorophyll can be lessened in the coconut oil just like it is in the butter. I also want to try doing the infusion in mason jars in the oven at 180 F (the warm setting), for several hours. Or, in a water bath in the crockpot. I haven’t decided. Hopefully I don’t just fuck it all up lol.

I decided that my Barney’s Purple Punch that was growing in a solo cup should be uppotted. So I loosened up some of the Coast of Maine soil into a 2 gallon grow bag, set it in the tent for about hour to acclimate and then transplanted and watered the plant in (week 1 of veg). She doesn’t look real happy at the moment. The other week 1 veg plant, gelato autoflower, has been in her home since she sprouted. Currently the white OG (week 4 of flower) is in the closet for sleepy time. And the short rider AF (week 5 of flower) takes up the most room. The tent will be pretty much at capacity and that makes me happy. Of course, smoking a joint of this home grown gift doesn’t hurt either.

And then there are the fur beasts. Boots is camped outside my son’s door, thinking (mistakenly) he will let her in.

Glad you’re having a good day today, Amy.

I do my my butter and oil extractions in jars in a sous vide water bath @ 190F for 4 -6 hours and it works great. Just make sure you don’t chill them too quickly like I did the first time lol cannabutter everywhere. Also when I shake them I open them up after to let out the gases and any pressure.

Do you add water IN the mason jars with the butter/oil (like you would on the stovetop)? I want to try extracting more chlorophyll into the water.

I have yes. Works great as long as you refrigerate after to separate the waste water. Lately, lay two times or so, I’ve been water curing the buds a week before. It’s a hassle but I think it makes for a better butter/oil extraction.

I have, in general, had by far the best luck taste wise with grapeseed oil and it isn't particularly close. This is with a Levo 2 that activates at 185 for thirty minutes and infuses at 155 (with stirring) for 150 minutes. Fwiw. Effect is consistent. Ratio of roughly 8g plant matter to a pint of oil.

My guess is...
Moms + holidays = how holidays happen.

Hope I'm right and all is well!
All is well. Just waiting to harvest the autoflower and again wondering just how many leaves should be on the indica. Some baked goods baked, some soap made, and trying to manage nasty neuropathy. Thank you for asking. Merry Christmas, all!

Man you’ve been busy! Looking good!

In regards to the indica, why not use this as a learning opportunity, defol a couple branches and compare your results at the end?
Everything is an experiment in there. Different nutrients and feeding mechanisms. Don’t laugh but it bothers me to intentionally make a plant asymmetrical. Lol.

No laughing don’t worry I get it. I’m OCD with a side a supersized side of neurotic.

You could do a light defol of the larger fans. People get pissy about removing the solar panels to the precious buds but there’s data that suggests pruning increases the photosynthetic rate
OR
Just leave it and enjoy!

I could come up with other options if you want so you aren’t faced with a dichotomy. Just let me know 🤣 (shit I said I wouldn’t laugh but that one was laughing at myself)
