This morning I added a 4th watering cycle. I should have done this when I flipped to 12/12 instead of just increasing the doses. We're back to that afternoon heat during lights out, and runoff today was half the usual volume and more than double what's going in! (2000/1000) πŸ’©

Remember this shit from last year? πŸ’©

Outside air temp - 85Β°
In the shed - 106Β°
In the tent - 91Β°

Positive pressure saves the day. It's only getting 6Β° of radiant heating from the shed.

VPD is off the charts πŸ“ˆ

Not much to report. I hit the F-Bombe with some cheese pollen last week to make sure my freeze/defrost process doesn't effect viability. Seems like it's good to go.

I'd say its loses its integrity during the shipping process. I have ordered pollen a few times. Had to hit the plants twice, ended up with minimal seeds!
Anything I created on my own and stored properly, have created an abundance of seeds with minimal pollen πŸ’š

If pollen should be kept refrigerated until use, how does it survive shipping?
I'm going to guess many times it doesn't survive depending on the conditions. The cornstarch and silica help a lot and then it's a numbers game. So far everyone I've sent pollen to has had successful results, so fingers crossed that continues. 🀞🏻

It starts loosing integrity the minute it leaves the flower! Glad you at least had some success with it.

I’ll be getting some on the sfv og currently in the shed. How many days after flip do you apply the pollen?

Depends how fast it transitions. Always post stretch. Figure if there were male flowers they need a few weeks to develop and open but they start earlier so in nature there's male pollen in the air as soon as the pistils are mature enough to catch it.

Thanks G!✌️

Ok so good news bad news ...

I cut the air layered branch off and decided to just leave it for a day instead of disturbing anything going on down there. I figured it would be easy to tell if it had rooted or not and I wasn't wrong, it definitely didn't. I unwrapped it and checked the stem, there were no roots, some brown discoloration but no mush. The good news is I decided to just clip it's leaves and today it has somehow perked up a little. I read that it could be a hormonal response from the plant and if I remember correctly there was heated discussion on this in another thread.

The reversal worked because I can see the very beginning of sacs forming but the likelihood of this thing surviving and producing viable pollen is extremely low. Either way I'll carry on with the experiment.

@PlumberSoCal2 what do you think? That was cut 21 days since I attached it.

I took the wrap off mine to see if there were roots and I have 2 white roots trying to come through the brown spongy thing, so I put it back together.
But my plants are in veg. not flower, so do you think that makes a difference?

I do think it makes a difference because it's usually more difficult to clone flowering plants. How long did yours take? I'm excited it worked!! πŸ’š

Edited to add: I also sprayed this branch with STS so it's really hormonally confused! Lol

It took 12 days for one to root. I haven't looked at the others yet. I'm a little concerned that moving the sponge will break off the tender roots, so how do I manage it? Originally I cut the sponge in half to wrap it around the branch, and kept it there with twist ties. I would love to keep one in some type of kratky or dwc setup as long as possible.

Hello Farmers! I'm getting back to my roots and doing things the hard way again. Circumstances prevent me from growing in the house so the shit show will be in the backyard now. Space and resources are limited so this thread will mostly be about making the best out of a difficult situation.

I have a 4 by 6 resin shed from Costco, a 2 by 4 tent, spider farmer sf-2000 and Cali lightworks uv-b. Two 4" AC infinity fans for intake and exhaust and a small circulation fan to handle air movement. The intake and exhaust are piped directly outside bypassing the shed entirely. I'm going to try to run positive pressure in this setup in an attempt to mitigate the effects of hot air in the tent and help keep critters out.

That's about as far as I've got and will finish assembling it today. Hopefully in a week it will be tuned up and ready for some plants.

Nice job can't wait to follow along on your journey. Happy growing. F.Y.I dollar store woman's nylons work great to keep the critters out. Cheap and efficient.
