How do you cure your bud then? And how long do you usually dry for?
Everything is done whole plant (outdoor girls, so they do have to be cut up into pieces that can be handled). Hung to dry, this needs to take at least 7 days, 10 are better. Cooler temps are better, as is dark, which is why I have loved that basement so. I'm shooting for 50%-55% RH. Once dry I allow RH to climb up a bit for curing, 65% or so, depending on the strain.
After that, the plants are broken down and trimmed. If I can swing it, I would borrow a dry trimmer for that task. Remove the big fan leaves, then let her rip.
After that, since they're dried, cured and trimmed, the flowers are vacuum-sealed and put into plastic bins, again in the basement, for storage.
Now that we're losing that home, my whole paradigm will be changed, but I will still likely go for whole plant slower drying and curing, because I like the results and the method fits me best. :)
Jars break, so I save them for actual canning.
