It’s mostly knowing what you’re growing in and how the plants will react with it, First run, build experience with the medium, see what the plants tell you, TAKE NOTES (cannabis isint shy about showing when she dosent like something we all know that one haha) I do not adjust the PH of my water but I do check it from time to time to see if I’m getting any irregular swings from the tap.
I wouldn’t expect to have a perfect run my first time with a new medium, but also why when I try new mediums I do one plant in it and see how it compares to what I I’m using in my other plants. knowing that info will help on the full run.
Outdoors, Everything the plant needs to grow really is in the soil, alot of the time the issue is the balance, like feeding cal-mag when you’re already adding epsom salt,, PH can have an effect on uptake but imo 99% of neut lockouts are grower induced, trying to push them too hard or not knowing what there mixing, but outdoors like you said, some locations have higher mineral contents temps, RH, light intensity, haze, smog depending on rural or urban, just different environments all together. My vegetable garden for example is 100% organic dark leaf compost from the start triple layer cardboard under 8” of compost to start the process, of killing off any weeds and grass, I add no fertilizers ever, I run it as a permaculture garden, plant matter that is excess at the end of the season is composted and next summer returned to the garden , and we can’t even keep up. Neighbors ask why my garden is fluroushing when theirs look like there struggling to start.
Feed the soil, the soil feeds the microbes, and the microbes feed the plants, One of the reasons organic grows are getting so popular is the ease of growing it in addition to adding nothing to your flower except natural amendments the plant could find in nature on its own, we just measure more precisely when feeding is all. Maybe it’s the vegetable grower in me but find what works for you and go with it! But this all circles back to my first statement it’s all about what your base medium was to begin with.
Here’s daily to semi daily harvests out of the garden Last summer just water straight from the hose to the sprinklers, with only the compost they where started in
