Im now starting to doubt if I can continue this grow in my current location. It seems the only way I can keep the temperature down is by leaving the bedroom door open. I have not set up my inline fan in the tent yet, but tested it and its fairly loud, definitley too loud to be left on with the bedroom door open. It can be heard at the front door that way.

I have zero cash to spare, and even if I did I cant wait weeks for something to arrive via ebay, amazon etc.

Its honestly looking like Im just going to have to stop, look for a more suitable apartment, and restart again in a few months. Im going to hate doing this but I dont really have much of a choice. I dont want to get busted.

Don't give up. You could use 12v computer fans. What's the size of your filter? Computer fans are silent and efficient. You need to get few of them and a 12v power supply and hook them up

what temperature is the inside of the tent when the door is closed and the fan/filter is running? Some people think you need to grow at 70 degrees in their tent but they will grow fine in the 80-84 range as well...

hes right....i have no choice to run my bloom in those temps. cant quite come up on an a/c yet due to doctor bills but they seem to be going strong. dont give up. live and learn. and that fan cant be that loud can it?

The temp is 78Β° with the door open but goes up as high as 88Β° when the door is closed. It may even go past 90Β° if the door was left closed overnight. I havnt had the fan and filter running in the tent yet as I didnt need them when they were in solo cups.

@ Toaster, thanks for dropping in. Are they expensive? My filter is a 150mm 270CFM filter

I used to run the room at 70 and when I had to downsize I didn't have the AC, dehumidifier, humidifier...etc to keep my environment where I thought it would be optimal...the plants did great in the higher temps and unregulated humidity (our average is 55rh though) which surprised me...

as soon as you turn that fan on, the temps will drop...hook that thing up, run the light 18/6 at night...then close the door, they will be fine...

Also, you can wrap insulation or something around the fan and ducting to quiet it down...hell, I used some old blankets before and it worked to make it quieter...

Yeah its pretty loud @ burn. Like youd hear it in every other room, even when the door is closed. So leaving the door open is definitley not an option.

Can the plants really survive in a sealed off room? I mean I thought they would die if the only air they are getting in is the same air that is being pushed out of the tent.

Thats the biggest factor of me deciding to just pack it in. Not much point in taking such a risk if the plants wont even survive.

They should be around 8-10Β£ a piece, and you could use a 12V DC power supply from an battery tool charger or something. Search for 140mm PC case fans or something like this. They should be available at your nearest computer store. If single on intake/outtake doesn't suffice than put two or three on each side.

Il stick it out for another while as I dont want to have to stop after already going through so much lol. Il only stop as a last resort.

But things keep going wrong in my apartment and workmen always end up having to come in and fix things, and that makes me even more paranoid, that somebody will hear something or smell something.

Btw lets picture this scenario, your guys answer to this will seal the deal!

Lets say my plants are halfway through flowering and the smell is potent. Then a family member, or a builder has to come over and they will be here an hour or more.

If I switch off the fan and filter, roughly how long do I have before the smell comes through the door? Bearing in mind that my tent is flimsy and not airtight.

I can shut my closet door for 12hrs with a 8" & 6" and temps will never go above 84. I dint like it that high but I can work with it. Keep at it.

Pretty quick if you don't have some type of odor control and something to seal up that door.

But do you havd AC? Because we dont have AC over here. And the room with the tent has the window sealed off to make it lightproof. So its literally a totally sealed room when the door is closed, only air that can get in or out is through the keyhole or under the door.

Yes I have ac. You can build a ice chest cooler with a fan and Styrofoam ice chest if temps are a issue. A fan blowing in a ice chest on a frozen gallon of water, produces 40degree temp blowing out for as long as you keep a gallon frozen. YouTube it. Get some odor control.

OK straight skinny for me
I had to close up my veg closet for 8 hrs total sealed had radio going just loud enough to drop fan sound out
and when my friends (No Smoking) left after the party only one said they liked the intense I was burning
and when I opened the closet up it was 93 plant was fine. their are things you can do to mask the few hrs and then you do need to set up a back up plan like ice chest in closet you can grab when needed
a portable unit with batteries something YOU CAN DO IT BRO.....
keep it green irish

IMO it is as much us, being overly cautious that raises attention we can be our own worst enemy.
ya know?
You know you have skills, just keep looking at different ideas
the computer fan the ice chest all great
if you can take a few pic of the room and how your doing this not just the tent see if you cant come up w a few more ideas.
good luck Irish

A cardboard box an blankets....encase that fan. Ghetto fab but works on a budget. An the ice bucket ac works too, just stock up on water bottles or whatever to freeze water in an swap out as needed.
