I have no idea how to make hash so I just kind of meant which is easier/quicker

there's many diff tek's for making hash.. I like cold water extraction and Butane (BHO) hash. It's simple stuff for the most part, the BHO gets a little tricky. Freeze your product before making hash. Really tho, dry or wet trim will be fine.

activating the defense mechanism in the plants lends more resin and terps/flavor and over-all weight and quality. remember plants grow in the dark, and when stressed by photoperiod and ice water, you really see a diference

depends on resin content,, keep your most frosty trim for making BHO. I would actually let the (less frosty) trim dry out and them make dry sift hash. Dry sift is great to add to bong hits or in joints!

ya man check it out... such an easy way get the crystals separated from the vegetable material. There's a thing called 'sifting screens' check into them u can probably make one for like $20.

If ur really satisfied with ur harvest and u feel u have a good amount of weed, u can take the popcorn nugs over to the sifting sreen and grind em up on top of it. Sift out all those crystals and with the left over vegetable material (still contains crystals) can make anything... baked goods, cannabutter, even goes great in a protein shake.

Day 55:

Approaching the 8 week mark so I hope they swell a lot more in the next 1-2 weeks. Gonna begin the flush in a few days too.

yeah, they will...I think your going to see them double in size, they still look they have a couple weeks to go...then again, the trichs may be a different story...how do they look? Clear, cloudy, amber?

Cant really see the trichs, waiting for a jewellers loupe to arrive. The pocket microscope I got was a mistake, cant just hold it up and see. Instead you gotta put whatever you wanna see on a slide, and I dont want to go chopping any buds off. They look clear to the naked eye

Jewellers loupe arrived and is a piece of shit. Id say at most its 5x but was listed as 30x. Can barely even see the trichs through it but from what I can see they are all clear, possibly a few cloudy. Very hard to tell due to the shitty magnification though.

If they are still clear 8 weeks in, how long more could they go on for?

Oh, I also got at my timer and set it to 10 hours light, 14 hours dark to speed things up a bit. And Il begin the flush tomorrow.

Cut a small sugar leaf blade off an put it under your other scope. No need to chop a whole nug.

It could be a couple weeks..no need to turn it to 14 hour dark, just leave it at 12/12 I don't think your going to see a difference...you typically only see people doing that to landrace sativas... which BTW, look at the lighting schedule of some of the countries where these sativas grow...pretty much 12/12 year round...

when your looking at the trichs, make sure you have regular lighting...not the LED...and like what Arthritisux said, just cut a small off a piece of a sugar leaf (the ones growing between the buds) and look at it under good light...then your loupe may work a bit better...I've even used a combo light/magnifiying glass app on my phone...

Day 59:

I cut off a sugar leaf off two buds, one of the inner buds at the centre of the LED (which has quite a few amber trichs) and one of the buds just outside the LED (which was about 60% cloudy and 40% clear).

These pics were taken with my 20x Natural History Museum Pocket Microscope, because my loupe is useless.

Day 61:

So Il be harvesting a few buds in a few days or at the weekend due to some amber trichs. Only 4 or 5 buds from the same plant.

The two other plants dont look done even to the naked eye, they still have more white pistils than brown. They will go on another week Id say.
