Hello fellow farmers, Been in a quiet state of mind for a while. Felt this is a good time to participate here more. Me and the wife decided to become self sufficient six years ago and thanking God for it! Three years back I developed a testicular melanoma 18mm in size. Using the Rick Simpson method of making healing oil I was able to virtually dissolve the growth in six months down too nothing. All I can say was Amazing! It is staying in remission so far. Back to the growing!

We made a resent purchase from my friends at Goldenseed and was given some of there newest creation Higgs Boson. We have already grown two but both were males. I planted two more and want to share the grow hoping for some girls. Here are some shots of the two current sprouts. HB1 is six days old, and HB2 five days old.

Higgs boson 2
Higgs boson 3

Here is some information on the strain from the breeder and a couple of finished pictures.

Higgs Boson is the holy grail of the cannabis strains. Resembling the high and the taste of a sweet landrace sativa, which normally takes half a year to flower. But the Higgs Boson flowers in 7 - 8 weeks. Heavily branched and short in stature this plant has an outrageous resin production.

The high of this strain is very clear, energetic and devastatingly psychoactive. Above-average yields of crystal covered buds with tropical fruit aromas.

On top of that the buds are quite sugared. This new batch is a cross of two exceptional basic pheno types, the Grapefruit and the Pineapple. Both derived from the original Brothers Grimm C99. It matures in 4 weeks from seed, which is much faster than the original C99 (6 - 8 weeks)

One not to miss!

The elusive herb we've all been searching for has been discovered in a garden shed!
Finishing at 18 inches, with buds the size of baseballs, this 80% indica will have you entranced from the getgo.
Hugely powerful, with a rich fruity aroma and flavour, the buds bristle with trichomes,
like a white fur coat that darkens through amber to red, then finally purple as they reach their peak and all the shade leaves drop,
eliminating the need for trimming. It's sure to prove a favourite in your garden,
and with a thc content of 27%, you won't be needing any workout videos, that's for sure!

Plus a little extra insight,

Carl Sagan's thoughts about marijuana
(This account was written in 1969 for publication in Marijuana Reconsidered (1971). Sagan was in his mid-thirties at that time. He continued to use cannabis for the rest of his life.)

…Initially I was unwilling to partake, but the apparent euphoria that cannabis produced and the fact that there was no physiological addiction to the plant eventually persuaded me to try… I have smoked occasionally and enjoyed it thoroughly. It amplifies torpid sensibilities and produces what to me are even more interesting effects…

The cannabis experience has greatly improved my appreciation for art, a subject which I had never much appreciated before…

A very similar improvement in my appreciation of music has occurred with cannabis. For the first time I have been able to hear the separate parts of a three-part harmony and the richness of the counterpoint…

The enjoyment of food is amplified; tastes and aromas emerge that for some reason we ordinarily seem to be too busy to notice… Cannabis also enhances the enjoyment of sex…

I do not consider myself a religious person in the usual sense, but there is a religious aspect to some highs. The heightened sensitivity in all areas gives me a feeling of communion with my surroundings, both animate and inanimate…

When I'm high I can penetrate into the past, recall childhood memories, friends, relatives, playthings, streets, smells, sounds, and tastes from a vanished era. I can reconstruct the actual occurrences in childhood events only half understood at the time…

I find that most of the insights I achieve when high are into social issues, an area of creative scholarship very different from the one I am generally known for. I can remember one occasion, taking a shower with my wife while high, in which I had an idea on the origins and invalidities of racism in terms of Gaussian distribution curves. It was a point obvious in a way, but rarely talked about. I drew the curves in soap on the shower wall, and went to write the idea down. One idea led to another, and at the end of about an hour of extremely hard work I found I had written eleven short essays on a wide range of social, political, philosophical, and human biological topics. Because of problems of space, I can't go into the details of these essays, but from all external signs, such as public reactions and expert commentary, they seem to contain valid insights. I have used them in university commencement addresses, public lectures, and in my books.

… I am convinced that there are genuine and valid levels of perception available with cannabis (and probably with other drugs) which are, through the defects of our society and our educational system, unavailable to us without such drugs…

… If you're high and your child is calling, you can respond about as capably as you usually do. I don't advocate driving when high on cannabis, but I can tell you from personal experience that it certainly can be done. My high is always reflective, peaceable, intellectually exciting, and sociable, unlike most alcohol highs, and there is never a hangover…

… the illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world.

Wow! Orcaman, first let me say that I, we here at the farm, are so happy to hear of another cancer victim sharing their story of SUCCESS. Second, let me say that I fully dig the strain name on its own merit. Third, glad you made this place your home.

Get your grow on!

@Seamaiden, Your words mean a lot. I never thought being a so called Pot Head my whole life at 51 years old now would end up saving my life with no doctors. Basically removing as much artificial foods as we can and a great variety of MJ in smoking, ingestion with food, and topical. Plus just a big thanks to everyone out there. It takes all of us to keep this great movement.

Cheers All! Orcaman

A little tech info on our veg area which is just a corner in the cellar. The reflective sheeting on the two walls and floor is ORCA Grow Film® Our homemade bloom tent is totally wrapped in this great material. Veg lighting is a hooded 400 Ultra Sun sodium bulb with supplemental 24 inch 10.0 UVB on 18/6 cycle. Here is a shot of current plants in Veg.

Weekly Update,

Just been one of those weeks. Our Siamese cat loves to hang out down in the cellar and the Veg area. Two days back we are just enjoying the morning when it sound like a bomb went off and then a plume off dust from the cellar. I went down to find he had knocked loose bricks down. Seems the lime in the one hundred year old concrete dust smothered the young leaves of the newbies. Here they are HB 1 on day 13, HB2 day 11.

Jesus! Is the rest of the brickwork stable?
Hey @Seamaiden, The wall is stable and our cat is grounded for now from the cellar.:) What a clean up! Took two hours to de dust everything. The biggest problem was I had to go to work and leave the mess in till the end of the day. I really took its towl on all the seedlings we have going right now. All the older plants handled the dust just fine. I rinsed off all the plants as soon as I got home. Thanks for dropping in!

Happy 2/22 too all, Updating a day early. Like the two's, Grin! The two are doing great. Removed all damaged leaves. Plus cutting off all damaged leaf tips. Both were given there first feeding. We have been using the General Organics line for four years now. I love the concept of a fresh tea mix based on your needs and conditions. I was off on my dates last week. HB1 is on day18 today. HB2 is on day 17 today. So here they are! Defiantly two different pheno's .

They look a lot happier now!
Hello @freespirit , Pleasure to talk and thanks for the positive words. I would love to take all the credit for a quick recovery but this is I really think the lighting is the hero. Sodium, and or Metal are the best lighting through the whole grow. Using T5's really slows down growth in the same manner. I like using UltraSun Sodium bulbs in Veg for many reasons. 1st is price. $10'00, Replacing Bulbs annually that are running 18/6. 2nd is the light spectrum. 2000 kelvin with the emphasis on the Red spectrum. I add UVB supplemental lighting for add blue spectrum and totally missing UVB rays as in ALL other conventional lighting.
