just realized you haven't harvested so I guess you can only guess theeffects at this stageGood to hear the male to female ratio tends to lean to the female, i will probably give them a shot next run cuz the Sour OG looks soo fire lol. What week did you spot the male parts?
And your gonna cross the Black domina eh? Must be some pretty good stuff, what kinda terps/effects do you get off it?
yo brotha Z hope you are good my man. Ehh just feel like I did everything wrong, again, and am super down on myself. Not sure if it was/is the RO water strippin my soil and makin ph low or what but plants just haven't been healthy yet. On top of that I felt like it would be ok transplanting 7-10 days into flower once I spotted the males, so that I could up-pot the females and get more out of them, but in hindsight naw it isn't worth the stunting from the stress. Pretty sure I've got soil that dropped low in PH so am trying to combat. Gave them some Recharge yesterday and am brewing Xtreme Tea to give them tomorrow. Also topped dress a bit of garden lime but who knows I've read it takes a long time to raise PH at all. As for small harvest, right when I could use some stretch and crazy growth, the plants are doing shit cause I froze them in time hah. I thought bamboo staking my be good but seems worthless. I intentionally was trying to have less branches so bud sites might be larger and less popcorny but ehh not lookin too good so far. Every day I contemplate literally starting over. Not supposed to be this hard. It is the soil or the water I put in it. Has to be and I'm just burnt from bein so frustrated about itLooking good ma, why do you think youll get a small harvest? I mean no scrog is gonna be less yield, but you should still get a decent amount>
Interesting that your having issues with ph, i went from using lots of PH up, then some ph down, now I basically only use the ph stuff to adjust my reservoir after a few days. Just today i noticed my big apple cookies had a leaf that was not lookin good and i was like "lemme just check ph" cuz i normally havent been, and it was fricken 6.8. Cuz ive been using armor si, it raises the ph, so now i know i gotta adjust it. Still fricken learning man, so dont get down on yourself, the more positive vibes the better they grow imo. If i were you, id get a soil ph pen and stop guessing. And yeah dolomite lime is good for adjusting ph, but bro i would just get a bottle of GH ph up/down and adjust your water to the proper ph and water the fuck out of em and flush with the proper ph water. Then just test your soil everyday with the pen and in a few days it will get to the right PH. Soil takes alot of patience....which is why i dont grow in soil lol. In hydro stuff like ph and deficiencies are fixed hours after applying the medicine. This is a good pen right here and I think crucial for any soil grower:yo brotha Z hope you are good my man. Appreciate it man but I am just "metered out" for a bit. I am spent and burnt out from the one way street. The more money I am throwing at the grow the worse it gets. Patience grasshopper lolAppreciate it man but I am just "metered out" for a bit. I am spent and burnt out from the one way street. The more money I am throwing at the grow the worse it gets. Need to take a step back a bit
hey man I'm pretty sure I don't like the attitude I may have appeared to have had with ya and I apologize. If I came off a bit persnickety I didn't mean it. I think all I've spent and all the shit I have been doing wrong piled up and got to me for a min. Those pens are dope af and I appreciate you takin the time to point them out. The soil tester I bought was a junk 3 in 1 vivsun ph, moisture, and ec meter or some shit but I had only bought it for the moisture part. The more I am reading this reddit thread the more I am thinking this and my last grow were completely EC related to RO stripping my soil. Makes perfect sense and some times I did add a bit of Tap water but I was not taking the RO part or the PH part seriously. I honestly was pullin the rookie move of them all and hopin that the soil would help me out and buffer things a wee bit. CG was very clear not to be a jackass and think I could not PH but that is what I did for 2 grows now and I'm done with it. Makin better moves now and things should be better. Have the right tubing comin this week so can set up the blumats. Not sure how I am going to combat my water just yet but the more I am reading the more I am thinkin I would be better off using tap water that I let sit out for 24hr+Interesting that your having issues with ph, i went from using lots of PH up, then some ph down, now I basically only use the ph stuff to adjust my reservoir after a few days. Yeah I actually just did yesterday. Top dressed with garden lime and weeks ago had foliar fed with epsom. Have also added cal-mag to the RO more than I haven't but I have a feeling the soil has been too far stripped. I had an EC issue my 1st grow that was quite similar now that I think about it. SOB the whole fkin time, the damn RO that I bought to solve my shit tap water has actually been the problem all along. It has to be. It would make complete sense.why not just add dolomite lime and use epsom salt and gypsum for cal mag and then just use regular tap water not ph'd ?
yeah sounds like itYeah I actually just did yesterday. Top dressed with garden lime and weeks ago had foliar fed with epsom. yeah that tea brew says to use RO water too to get rid of chlorine and chloraminesfrom reddit a year ago
"
Your tap naturally has calcium manganese magnesium copper iron etc etc all nutrients your plant needs!
Like already stated, if you use pure ro water without adding nutrients back in, you will cause “ec shock” because your ro water has 0 ec and plants need .4-.6 in veg and .9-1.2 in flower. That zero ec ro water hits the root zone and IMMEDIATELY dissolves and strips the roots of all nutrients and causes ec shock.
When using pure ro water the root zone ec immediately plummets and the plant loses the ability to uptake nutrients until the ec corrects itself.
Stunting the plant....
So yeah, “buffering” in this case refers to adding the nutrients back in you just removed. Obviously phing your water is important, but that’s a moot point because you should ALWAYS ph your water regardless.
Anyways, I think you missed the central thesis of his comment.
So ro water you are removing calcium magnesium manganese copper iron etc. then you mix your feed and immediately add them back???? What is the point in that?
How is ro water beneficial at all if everytime you use it you are removing and adding back in the same exact nutrients
So the whole point of his post was ro water is useless because you immediately have to add back in the nutrients the ro took out.
Which obviously begs the question: why use ro water at all if you are removing nutrients and having to immediately add them back? Why not skip that step entirely and just use tap water....
You could just use slightly less nutrients and use tap water not buffered or buffered a bit less and the result would be EXACTLY the same. Hence ro water being a complete waste of time. As stated above."
That's the same thing I was explaining to my soil friend. But lately I don't even check the ph until one day after res change. For most of this grow it has been very predictable and stable. Been lucky. And trying to do the less is better thing.Interesting that your having issues with ph, i went from using lots of PH up, then some ph down, now I basically only use the ph stuff to adjust my reservoir after a few days.
