You need to start using clones, especially in vert SOG systems like ours where plant uniformity is quite important.

My $.02.

That's kind of risky to be running unsexed plants in that system, miss 1 nanner and everything is screwed.

Hi all, did the nute temp question get answered?
28c is very high and DO levels will be very low...
Nice looking system BTW, I use the flooded tube method too for my VScrOG very simple to run I find.. Although I use a 1.5 inch tube to set the water height instead of the dams..
Peace

Even though you're getting feminized beans, you'd still be better off taking clones once you've picked out a mother - more uniformity means more yield.

yeh that was my intention
its the beginning of summer
and im in the process of building raised beds outside
im thinking of doing a recirculating drip feed
but using the power of the sun to veg them through out summer
out of the 90 seeds all up that i have ordered
ill start culling the shit ones once i sort through them as time goes

cheers for the comment bobby

No worries bro, but vegging plants outside and bringing them inside is gonna lead to a host of insect issues for you (and obviously possible security issues, depending where you're located).

BTW, my rig is built and running (kind of) - no plants yet, but I'm getting the cooltube tomorrow and they'll be in there by tomorrow night.

thats awesome bro
i cant wait to see your rig in action

i sort of thought about the insects but i
was thinking of sealing the grow beds with shade cloth and clear film so its boxed in from the outside world
pretty much a greenhouse
although pest can still get in but will be limited
and treated that very moment

my worries is , would the clone's except the method change
eg. outdoor mothers cloned for indoor hydroponics

do you have any knowledge towards that ?

as for the security , my nearest nabour lives 15 mins drive down the road
and no flyby's in my township we're a spec on the map
you blink , you'll miss it

I don't, but I think it'd be fine - I've seen others do this and nothing too horrendous happened.

As far as seeing it in action, there's a video in my thread showing how it works - lemme know if you can't find it and I'll post it up here.

thats cool man
we're all in the same boat at the end of the day

your system is awesome !! no doubt
but are you worried about the noise it makes ?
to lower the sound you can use thin foam mats
but make it as a slide more less

Nah, not too worried about noise - that video is without the AC, inline fans for cooltube, or oscilliating fans running.

Also, it's only gonna be on for ten seconds every three minutes (or so), so that should help.

Plus, that's why I went with 6" insulation in my buildout - don't want to have to worry about noise issues.

I would've guessed that yours would be pretty loud, no?

thats good bro
you went all out on your build out
with sound proofing
im yet to get there , lol
nah im not worried about the noise
but what was bugging me was when i had airlines
through the pipe , that was loud mainly annoying
but i soon directed that into the res

i so wish i did aeroponics instead of flooded tube
but algud though
ill do that next

whats actually the system you got ?

I'm not really sure what you'd call it - I guess it's basically a vertical NFT.

lol , its funny
i only learnt what a NFT was the other week
i still dont know what a ebb is
do they still use the old terms like deep water culture and stuff ?
or is there another name for it
thats how out of date i am , lol

do you have any knowledge towards aquaponics
on a large scale ?
im really thinking of trying that some stage
but have the fish farm outside breeding bass and barramandi
then direct that fluid inside to the hydroponics
then back out

i saw one on better homes and gardens tv show
but with vegetables instead
plus the fish were seasonal , kill 2 birds with 1 stone
food and kronic

that would be my ultimate build id love to achieve
sooner or later
