Is curing in jars bullshit and a way to justify wrongly dryd buds

Pardon the slight derailment, but all of this talk about converting this and decarbing that got me thinking. (Start dream sequence music)...
When I went to Barcelona with a few grams of my very recently harvested (but NOT cured or aged) buds, I had a little inside one of the fake metal cigarette tokers. It was like a magnet the way the customs guy found it, and promptly escorted me to the basement of the airport. I feared a metal mattress frame and some heavy duty jumper cables, but instead they had a triple beam scale and some of the instant drug tests that you see on TV. The "agent" took a sample of the bright green indica bud that I had and looked at it puzzled, like he had never seen anything like it. It was skunky as hell and smelled up the room. When he put a small bud into one of the tests and cracked the vial, he at first sort of smirked as he expected it to turn colors, but instead, no reaction took place, with only green stuff floating in the clear liquid. It turned out that this was the agents first day and I was his first major bust. All of the other officers were giving him ship over his big score of 1.5 grams of suspected marijuana. He asked me if it was MJ when the test showed nothing, and I just shrugged my shoulders. I was given back the toker, without the buds, and turned loose.
OK...back to the topic. I wonder if the lack of active THC in the sample was the reason that nothing reacted? I KNOW it was great bud, but it didn't react. I'm unsure what the actual reaction involves.

Correct me if I am wrong (newbie to all this Really!) but my understanding is RSO is Rick Simpson Oil and is made up with the sole goal of high THC "tar" and cut then with oil.? Don't think Cannabis satavis L. hemp will be in that league. I grew some Pink Kush CBD 30:1 which is very high in CBD, say 15-18% and very low in THC, somewhere around .5% THC. Made it into a tincture for the wife as a substitute for the Charlotte's Web CBD capsules she was taking.

You are correct that rso is usually made with the full cannabis plant including THC. I will be using hemp with CBD, so I guess I should have just said I was making oil.
Regardless, hemp can be used in the same fashion as cannabis plants and this is how I will use it. I may even add some THC high cannabis flowers to my Hemp "thus increasing THC" while making oil.
I'll use the term full plant extract from now on.

The recipes I've seen on RSO are a 2-5 minute alcohol wash, strained and heat applied to evaporate the booze. NO OPEN FLAME!!! I like the resulting alcohol tincture and use it daily. For caps I will slowly allow the alcohol to evaporate and use the tar to mix into coconut oil. A lot better results than cooking the flower in the oil.

It was one of those "Just let me die before they start torturing me" moments, and the only thing I could think of as they escorted me down the cut stone steps into the ancient basement was the movie "Midnight Express". I almost expected to see torches hung from wall sconces, and maybe some chains on the walls. The expression on the guys face when he triumphantly crushed the reagent capsule in the test kit was priceless, as his smirk went from, well, a smirk to the slow fade of uncertainty, then self doubt and it's possible ramifications set in. After gawking at the clear test results with the bright green flakes floating around in it, they weren't sure what to do. Prior to this I think most of their experience was with hash. Maybe he used the wrong test? Maybe I didn't have any detectable THC in it yet as it hadn't decarbed at all? I don't really know but I was scared shitless at the time. Not so much for myself, but more for what I was going to tell my wife. It all worked out in the end, although I had to sign some sort of document.

I want to know

Why the bud smells like hay after it's been in a jar when it's stinks when it was hanging up I've seen loads of people say about it plus I can't keep my bud long enough to cure it in jars lol I'm not trolling any one or being abusive I just don't understand how putting it in jars makes it better fair enough bacteria breaking down chlorophyll but imo if the plant is done tidy and dryd tidy it shouldn't be much if any chlorophyll left in the plant my opinion but like I said I've never done it

With all due respect fo your opinion, my opinion is you dont know what you are talking about. Maybe you are in the wrong hobby. Find something else to occupy your time and buy your bud from a dispensary.
