Ok, do it your way. Don't you want the finest cured bud in your county/state?
Like I said at the beginning of this conversation, I like when people don't believe me. Those who know, or remember me know I do not bs!

Scientific studies don't support you so i think your going to have a hard sell.

But i am toying with the idea of buying a brick press and burying a brick..... aka a brick of kief

Something to think about, and I still live by this rule.
If you know everything, you can't learn anything.
I'm always learning. Even if it's what not to do.
Go look in my gallery. Seriously
I only wanted to helo. Why would I want to ruin your bud?
Wine can last hundreds of years! I'm not that old, nor will get there, but in another 10 years, I'm confident that bud will keep aging like fine wine

What's funny. Few people believed me back then, until i proved my methods.
The people who took my advice all had successfully cured.
Ok, would you believe this?
Or this.
Hold up, gotta find these. This is a strain I bred called Prehistoric. I have an indica, and sativa version. Also 6 other "super strains"

Ready to go!
A bud is completely dry, cured, and ready for sale or consumption when the stem in the middle of the bud snaps when the bud is cracked with the fingers. The snap is easy to detect with practice. It is at this stage that the product can safely be sealed and stored for an indefinite period of time.

This is from a pinned thread by Texas Kid (a THCFarmer og) in the curing and harvesting sub section of basic growing. It was written by DJ Short in 1999, I believe. It is very difficult to get the proper moisture level to store buds for a long time, but it is possible. If you been into growing for a while you will know who DJ Short is, if you don't you should read up on some growing, breeding history. He is the original creator of the Blueberry strain and if he says it's possible, then I believe it is possible, even though I have never done it myself, just to be clear.

Also, I believe THC does degrade over time, especially when exposed to light. So long term storage could effect quality or potency in a negative way. Again, I have never stored buds for over 9 months so I don't know from experience.

Hey all,

Took my first crop down a week ago and been drying 60/60 since. None of the branches were really snapping but the buds were very dry so I bucked and trimmed then jarred them up. After 16 hours the jars are only reading between 53-57% on the meters.

The buds feel normal to me, albeit a little fluffy on the outside. Is this alright? Should I burp less or still go for 3 times a day? I've only burped once since jarring.

Thanks for any help.

After the first week, I usually only burp once every few days and then weekly after about 2 weeks unless they feel too moist, it gives time for the inner moisture to be drawn out. I use hydrometer to get an idea, but it takes a full 24 hours sealed to get an accurate reading, so I would guess that yours may in fact be at the perfect level and the meter may reflect that if you give it a few days undisturbed.

How do you do that. My buds are stored in dark jars at 65f and are pretty much garbage imo after 16 months. 8 years curing? I call bullshit.

I think after 2 years thc starts to decline quite fast... I can't say from experience cause I can't even make it from harvest to harvest lol. I'm sure under perfect conditions the bud itself would last quite long, but the potency is bound to decline.

Wrong. Ig done correctly, cannabis can be stored indefinitely! Seeds can also be kept viable.
I had this tested in 2012 (according to HT's it would have been 2nd strongest on earth) but that's high times.
IF LEFT IN LESS THAN AN IDEAL LOCATION, DJ Short is correct. Do a little more due diligence.
I assure you this bud is as good as it EVER was!
DJ also claimed the tops must be kept 18 inches below a 1K hps, or you the terpd can only have a "citrus" smell. DJ is VERY knowledgeable, but has been gone a long time, and has been proven wrong several times. DJ was a great breeder, and if possible I'd go head to head with him in a debate, and id bring proif
Shanti is where to go for info!
I'm actually showing proof. You can look back to my threads from 4 years ago
You asked for help OP, why would you throw insults?
In 2012, when this test was taken, total thc would have been 2nd. It also takes time for THC-A to do it's thing.
By your reasoning, wine goes bad..NOT TRUE!

And I KNOW they didn't store it for more than 2 years. Because someone posts something does not make it true.
Show me in person, timelapse, and finally pictures. Leafy, can't even get the heritage correct. I don't medicate all that much, and I have found no REAL studies besides my own!

How to keep weed fresh

In this article, we'll review why it's important to store your weed properly, how to keep weed fresh, and how long weed lasts in ideal conditions.

Every study ever done proves weed degrades. You are the only person on earth who says otherwise. That and all the other stupid things you post lead me to believe you've never grown anything. Go smoke your imaginary buds and quit posting misinformation.

Yes, it will, UNLESS kept in ideal cinditions, and jars must be sealed properly!
I'm will to send in a batch for testing. Anything it MAY have lost in potency, it's gained in smoothness.
It's very difficult, but not impossible.
I've tried old bud stored improperly, and i did not feel any effect. If tbere is more than 8% moisture, it will mold..
I am the best at what I do. Being known in this industry is not good!
I'm not growing yet, nor haven't since my daughter was born.
I'll put my flowers up against any, and I'm confident it will come out on top.
Key is seal the jar RIGHT, and cool dark place. I mean no light at all!

YES IT DOES DEGRADE! NO QUESTION. However if stored in ideal conditions it wil lsst last 9 years. Maybe next year it will go to crap, but I know of nobody else who had bren able to store properly as long as I have.
I understand it's hard to believe. That's fine. A) no need to csll names! B) tell that to anyone who has tried my bud. They will adamantly disagree
