okay..I have nice gallon jar to wash in..I'll see what half that full that weighs. I think I'll dig back into @Graywolf 's site..I think he lists somewhere the actual amount of oil that alcohol and propylene glycol can hold in suspensionActually thinkin about it.. nice crushed up material... probably 1/2 pound
Ya ill tell ya.. its better to rinse soaked over damp... it may take longer to cook off but you ensure you get more trichsokay..I have nice gallon jar to wash in..I'll see what half that full that weighs. I do small batches currently (1/8 Oz) when buds start to get too Dry to smoke)@GT21 what's your opinion on how much bud can a gallon of ethanol strip?
All depends on the size of the run you are doing. I get better yield with small batches than large ones.@GT21 what's your opinion on how much bud can a gallon of ethanol strip?
Absolutely!Ya ill tell ya.. its better to rinse soaked over damp... it may take longer to cook off but you ensure you get more trichs

I doubt i woukd go over 7-10 grams.
You may want to distill off the alcohol to use again. Some claim yoy can save 75-90% of the alcohol.
In my experience large Wash = lower yield.no..I've got at least a couple elbows to wash. Thought about dry ice or a gumby run then wash that. I'll have to play around. I'm no stranger to making clear shatter quality qweth
Everclear is expensive and gov taxed pretty hard... iso is just cheapif your using a still, maybe everclear is a better option than iso?
Isopropyl alcohol and its metabolite, acetone, act as central nervous system (CNS) depressants.[24] Symptoms of isopropyl alcohol poisoning include flushing, headache, dizziness, CNS depression, nausea, vomiting, anesthesia, hypothermia, hypotension, shock, respiratory depression, and coma.[24] Poisoning can occur from ingestion, inhalation, or skin absorption; therefore, well-ventilated areas and protective gloves are recommended.
Around 15 g of isopropyl alcohol can have a toxic effect on a 70 kg human if left untreated.[25] However, it is not nearly as toxic as methanol or ethylene glycol.
Isopropyl alcohol does not cause an anion gap acidosis (in which a lowered blood serum pH causes depletion of bicarbonate anion) unlike ethanol and methanol. Isopropyl alcohol does, however, produce an osmolal gap between the calculated and measured osmolalities of serum, as do the other alcohols.[24]
Overdoses may cause a fruity odor on the breath as a result of its metabolism to acetone, which is further metabolized to produce the nutrients acetate and glucose.[26]
Isopropyl alcohol is oxidized to form acetone by alcohol dehydrogenase in the liver.[24]
The biological half-life of isopropyl alcohol in humans is between 2.5 and 8.0 hours.[24]
Isopropyl alcohol is denatured for certain uses, in which case the NFPA 704 rating is changed to 2,3,1.
When you do larger yields you usually have the booze and material mixed for too long... then you pull chloro and add steps thats allNo way could I wash only an eight at a time, like natural I have at least a couple p's of trim.doesnt make sense to me you would yield more from less material as long as your ratio of material to ISO is the same.
If you can pour the plant material and shake the shit out of it and strain in under 30 seconds i say do a 5 gallon bucket at a time hahaha its just easier to do smaller batches. A kitchen timer sometimes helps you get consistent batchesSo what is the recommended max amount to wash at one time?better to do lots of small batches?
Ya prices are nuts for concentrates i talk to people that see 50 to 90 a gHey hey, what's the deal on 100$ a gbo for rosin. Moxy.. Is it going to take me to the moon. Heavy shit man? My buddy was at a festival and saw a press in action, he's got me wondering.....
ISO gives 50%+ higher yield than Everclear.if your using a still, maybe everclear is a better option than iso?

Bigger batches tge trichomes get hung up in the bud and trim. Doing an eighth i get 17.2-24.5% yield (ISO) I tried 10 grams my yield suffered. No way could I wash only an eight at a time, like natural I have at least a couple p's of trim.doesnt make sense to me you would yield more from less material as long as your ratio of material to ISO is the same.

I use a Timer app in my phone. If you can pour the plant material and shake the shit out of it and strain in under 30 seconds i say do a 5 gallon bucket at a time hahaha its just easier to do smaller batches. A kitchen timer sometimes helps you get consistent batches
