Cake decorating tools work good as scrapers, the kind they use to shape fondant icing on wedding cakes.
I love the aluminum can idea, wish I had thought of that before...
Silicone cookware or measuring cups work great.

Is that also your way to force feed dust, dirt and hair into the mix?

Being a painter I always notice dust landing on fresh paint grr. It's in all air everywhere unless you got good h.e.p.a system in your space.

Not trying to come off as an ass.
I just think about that as a side effect of air purging.

Perhaps a fan with a filter on the backside?

I wonder if you could cut a piece of furnace filter and tape it to the back of your little fan?

Also if your fan creates a spark of any sort your alcohol vapor is bound to catch fire.

Be safe.

The fan is blowing up, if I notice dust in it I will just re filter it before its fully evaporated. My old way was to have a fan blowing across the top, this way seems much quicker so far. I dont think the fan sucking air in the little cracks on the side will take in much dust.

Had to flip the fan because it wasn't evaporating efficiently once it got near the bottom so I added a filter.

I will try to get a video uploaded to YouTube because it was spinning and mixing itself, cool as a cucumber and evaporated more than twice as fast

I put it on the stove on lowest heat setting and it's hot on bottom of silicone measuring cup but ice cold liquid. So I am pretty much evaporating with no heat.

I just did my first batch awhile ago finally it's finally on the warmer now with fan blowing on low over the top, about 125-150 on the hotplate but the mix is still pretty cool, about 70 with my IR temp gun.
Quick and cold, low and slow, lol.I shouldn't have got stoned first,i squeezed the stacks too hard and got sediment in my mix and had to refilter again,4 stacks is better than three so you don't squeeze trim out.I probably lost 15% fucking around cause I'm high, lol.Mix looks good though, light yellow when I poured it into pyrex and put it on the plate.

How long do you leave it on for GT?I'm guessing til it's not liquid and doesn't run when you tip the pan?don't want to overcook, lol.

Mine was the same,i used a temp gun and checked it all throughout.Hot plate was 145-155,pyrex dish was 74 and mix was about 52,mix started heating a bit as ISO evaped but never over 72 until all ISO was gone, about 2 hrs like GT said.Im sure the heat is an accelerant because it takes alot longer to dry with just a fan,ive done it that way before, this is like a poor man's across oven, lol.
