I once used fire to detect butane leaks in a home brewed recovery system.
It worked, but..
I was outside working at -10F, and somehow neglected to consider that the flames would quickly heat the butane and make things more exciting, very quickly.
Butane seemed so safe at -10F.
Wrong.

Here's my first try at it. I Started with 14g of holy grail kush larf and popcorn size buds. Did 2 20-30 sec washes with 99% iso. It ended up a rosin like consistency. I tried to whip it up but it didn't change the consistency. Very sticky. I was too lazy to crop the photos.

Had a hard time getting a good pic but it looks like whipped rosin.

I ended up with 3.4g from 2 washes. Is there something I could do different to get more of a shatter consistency?

Might wanna try less heat longer cook... if you dont like the way that plays.. just put in freezer for now

honestly, im not quite sure there is any scientific method to get shatter every time. at least it looks like it. im always doing everything the same way and i get every consistency there is. even from same starting material. one run is shatter, one is budder and one is a bit sappy. im like wtf? xD

My Stuff gets scrapped and then put in the oven at about 50-60C° for 30-60 min.
Washes are normaly around 30 seconds. sometimes the first wash i just pour in, 1 or 2 gentle shakes and pour out. thats like 10 sec contact time.

I'm going to try GTs method with outdoor from last season. It's a bit dark so not sure what to expect. I strained threw a tshirt into these three double coffee filter containers it took 5 minutes to drain away from the weed. I put it in the frig for a few hours to drain threw the coffee filters.I ended up with a pint that's on the 175* griddle now
