hows the youngin? aint heard for a while.....
Made it to Seattle ok. He is pulln out so far as well as can be expected. Got a job right off the bat. Making good money painting "union work". He's in training right now thru the union hall and is getting his SSPC certification for a Paint & Coatings Inspector. Corrosion control and such. He's back with his Rootz and will do well there. He only moved to Pittsburgh to be with his wife while she was getting her masters. So he is back where he grew up and feels the most comfortable.

It is going to take him a bit to shake off the betrayal from his wife. But as I told him the 1st real true love lost for whatever reason is the one you never forget. Hes a strong kid he is gonna be fine. Tho we did worry for a bit.

I appreciate your reaching out and asking. I will let him know you asked about him. :D

Uhhh forgot that was a company. .. no i dont use build a soil brand... these are ROOTS PLANTS

Good to see you bud

true ,i spend right at about 400 to make my dirt,,but that doesnt need reamend for 4 to 5 yrs,,compost is about it yearly,,and i make it also, leaves grass clippings and cow shit from a friend that own them,,plus he got 300 acres of damn waste ,tree cutter pay him 30 bucks a truck load to dump there and he goes threw and sells the wood,,for weed,i use same dirt, but i do spend 40 bucks for a gal of botanicare soil blend,,and a 1lb bag of kool bloom hell i couldnt even tell ya how long that shit last,,ive grown 2 years with it and havent even hardly broke the seal,,my main cost is electricity too,,adverage is about 250 to 300 a month
I haven't had luck making compost i think it is to dry here.I have used Botnacare products indoors in the past with good results never tried them outdoors. I'm trying to keep it simple and plan to pull the plants after harvest amend with a yard of compost and replant next year.

just need to wet it more bro,,i stir mine once a week and it dry on outside but inside is cooking,,soon as i stick that shovel in it,,steam comes out,,i have mine under a oak tree and been triple digits for 2 months,,just got a break day before yesterday and got 3in of rain,,the first we had since end of august,,you just need to stir it more,,and doing it yourself makes the product better,,at least thats what i think

@Ecompost I'm a little late but I'm sure you have read the one-straw revolution. He talks a lot about natural food and that the most nutritious way to live is a natural diet. Basically you eat what nature provides at that time. He talks about fruits and vegetables unnaturally grown out of season provide no nutrition and the fruit is not ripe. It is injected with sucrose, also as you mentioned hormones that force coloring are uses, and then they wax everything.

It's become more about eye appeal. If it looks bright orange it must taste good. If you've ever had naturally grown apples from the orchard or oranges from the grove it's a different kind of sweet. When I was a kid I hated orange juice except when I would visit my grandparents in Florida. The juice is crazy sweet. It's a natural sweetness.

Why is juice like this not marketed widely...the shelf life is a week.

I'm going to start pile myself but have very little to work with now. How long will it take mixing and watering once a week? We went 5 years here with only a half in. of rain,i see now the water speeds thing up.
