I'm going to start pile myself but have very little to work with now. How long will it take mixing and watering once a week? We went 5 years here with only a half in. of rain,i see now the water speeds thing up.
not sure on date i started mine,,is back in thread here somewere,,but i think a month ago,,my pile is half the size i started out with now,,im getting one of the solice test this month,,it test perfect compost and soil mixs, believe it or not but you can make it harmful for the soil,,this test prevents that,,it is so hot that i cant get out and extent mine, when i moved here first thing cleaned the place up,,i got probally a good 20 yrds of leaves,,iit is full of rock, glass and debri,,i just got to go threw it and get all that crap out,,but chances are most of it is already workable compost, that why i wont the tester,,but the pile i built already probally another month be my guess,,there is all kinds of stuff to speed the process,i just choice to let nature do it alone

Okay so, the landrace strain is starting to bud now, last time I ran this strain it was stretching like CRAZY, but this time it just threw out hundreds of budsites instead? Maybe it will keep stretching but it doesn't look like it, should still get an easy p from though, she is a good 4*4 ft. Smells like icyhot lmao, only 4 more months of budding on her, lmao, hopefully keeps getting bigger as it buds.

he is in the cali desert which is a lot like mine, we have no leafs laughs.
tumble weed, cactus, sage brush, all that will compost, add a little green to match browns,im sure there is a feed store there,,table waste minus meat products,,you gotta buy veggies, coffe ,tea egg shells, your plants after harvest, hair ,hell even lizard shit,,all kinds of things to compost

ya in direct light you would have to cover it with a tarp,,that tumble weed would be great to keep air moving threw the pile,,cactus takes longer to break down cause it is all water,,i put some in my pile when i first made it,,it only about half composted now,,i turn mine every sunday,,i got out today for a hour, all i could handle,,pulled all my beans, tomatoe 2 beds of squash that wasnt up to parr, all my peper and bell peper plants, all to the compost pile so the green i put in im gonna have to match that with brown,in 2 weeks gonna add 30 lbs of char and about 15 more pounds of ewc,,then i think i will leave it alone and start another pile,,that way i can get some in the boxs, and come spring the next batch be ready and transplants will go in with that,,im breaking down the whole garden and adding pure nitrogen ,alfalfa ,feather, fishbone meals and for the wondering under earth bugs,,got oyster shell flour, crab meal and neem,,add about 3 bricks of peat,,that will double my soil volume,,so i got a lot to do before spring,,plus got to get mama a garden in containers behind the house here,,all i need is at minumum 90 degrees to work with, lmao
