Jumping Right In! Brand New Set Up

Ok. I thought 80 was the ceiling. I will leave it. When I have the meter set to out then disconnect the probe it flashes and reads -50F so I was thinking ‘in’ meant the meter reading and the’out’ was the probe reading.

For the root zone i would say 80 i guess but I don't use heat mats so I don't worry about that. You can operate in a very wide range temperature wise with clones you know from 72 up to like 85. At lower temps the process just drags out longer. Below 70 forget it. The secret is STEADY. 👍 a basically flat line for a week.. At 82° some stuff will root in 5 days. Mine go at my lung room temp of 74 and take 10 days. Its a trade off.

I don't want to take over your thread talking about cloning but basically I think the best way to go about it is it's better to understand the process than memorise the steps or numbers.

Make sure there's some small vent open so they don't cook/choke..which it looks like you have, and you're good to go. 👍 My personal rule is just never to touch them or open it once they're in there for at least a week. I don't even move the container anymore because #reasons lol ❤🌱

Awesome!
Thank you so much. I appreciate any info!
It seems the new sensor is levelling off after acclimating in the tray. I have it set to read in 15 min intervals. I will check then and compare.

The table is a little more accurate though.

I think the conditions have levelled of fairly well but I’m concerned for a few of my clones.
4 or 5 have gone very limp. I hope they come around.
It’s good to see that the mom didn’t mind lightening her load.

I have changed my watering regimen. I now do 3L what seems like every day. These two taller ones are chugging the water. The smaller one is still on every other day. Since the change, I have not seen any softness.

These are another story.
Since the Monday cut they are dropping like flies.
The temp right now is 79, humidity is 75%.
I sprayed this morning and gave the cubes a couple of drops each.
I could swear I did everything correct.
It does seem to be the smaller ones dying.

It’s been a long while since I tinkered with mineral wool cubes. Although some of my clones lean over a bit while they are hustling growing roots so I never chuck them or give up on them until they go crispy lol.

Your plants are looking great man! Can wait to see the flowers you grow on those ladies

I dont spray the plants... they look a bit to wet.

i sprayed today because they were looking dry and I was hoping it would stand them back up.
The photo is right after I sprayed.
Ahh ok then maybe they were to dry? Makes sense if they were drooping over like that.

Can lower temp to 75 to slow thw drying of the rockwool out. Best thing is to not open the dome except to water.

Did they perk back up since?

If I keep cloning like this, I’m going to need them around for a while.
I used to mess with rockwool back in the day and if they were nice and wet when I put them on the dome and didn't open the dome the humidity was high enough inside they would not evaporate enough to need to ever be watered again or opened or touched or anything until roots showed up a week later. They don't have roots yet so they don't really use the water they get it from the humidity in the air and they need it constant to maintain turgor pressure.
As soon as you open that dome the temperature and humidity changes and the plants don't have the functions to adapt to that and they wilt. Any change in VPD at all is BAD. It has to stay so high so the stomata are basically closed.
I see a lot of my younger growing habits in what you're doing and I can really really relate. I was and still am a tinkerer. I know you're opening it too much to check and spray and love them up.

Try like I'm suggesting next time I'm not steering you wrong. I want to see you have the most beautiful healthy plants 👍🌱

They want to make roots if we just let them. I got really excited when I discovered this...everyone else...not so much lol 🤣🤣🤣

I know I can be obnoxious but I don't have a lot else going for me so...

Thank you Grownsince95. I really do appreciate your help.
I have tried to stay away. It’s the OCD in me.
My next attempt, I will do it your way with better discipline.
What are your thoughts on Turbokloners?
