Removing the cable hanger and just using 4 ratchet ropes will get you a couple inches

Great idea man, but I’m probably gonna need more than that. Plus you like the option to lower and raise the light if need be

Better yet remove the rack you have the plants on and replace them with either a small flood tray or at least some deep saucers to catch runoff. I'm cheap so I use plastic bin tubs I get at the .99 store.

This will give you an extra foot of height along with what GH suggested in removing the pole and hanging the light off the ceiling. That should give you another 6" at minimum.

Curious why you are double bucketing but your outer bucket has holes? I thought you were setting up a DIY Ebb and Flo but I don't see a control bucket so it looks like you're hand watering?

Yeah I think I will just cut the poles of the shelves maybe four inches tall, I don’t want to get rid of them bc I like to be able to slide a saucer under the buckets and just slide them out and dump them after waterings. I don’t want to have a wet vac to suck out the water and I don’t like picking up the pots and moving them to dump the saucers. Oh the double bucket is bc the inside bucket is the pot and the outer bucket holds the runoff and drains from a hole in the bottom middle, and I guess the double bucket also helps to protect the roots from the light since the bucket are white and let light through. The holes on the side are in the runoff bucket to air it out. Yeah just hand watering.

So the other two biscotti mintz seeds didn’t germinate that’s a bummer but at least I have one I’m reversing so hopefully should have more seeds when that’s done. I contacted seedsman and they are sending me out 3 black sugar fem seedsmans seeds for free! So that’s super awesome of them for taking care of that issue super fast. Can’t wait to grow that strain, never grew or smoked a Black Domina strain before so I’m super stoked about that!
