Hello Everyone.. I'm new as a member to these forums but have been browsing in the background for several months.
I ran my first grow under a Bestva 1500w. I managed 132 grams from 4 plants in a 4x4. It was a great learning experience - especially that my light is a piece of shit.
For my second grow I ran 4 autos all starting under the light. I put one outside after ten days, and another 5 days after that. My intention was to kinda experiment with the sun vs. the light. The sun was obviously exciting compared to that piece of shit light. About a month in to my 2nd grow the Bestva burned out, and of course they aren't honoring the warranty. So all 4 plants were sitting outside. Now of course this is not a good idea as it's not legal where I'm at, but lockdown worked very well for that. I've finished 3 autos and the 4th is near ready.
So now it's time to order a new light!
I've been quoted $762.95 including $95 shipping for 2 x 320w w55 strip lights with Samsung 301H, Cree, and UV/IR. This will put me at 640w for my 4x4. I feel like I'm being over quoted based on what I see others paying on this forum. Thoughts?
My next step will be to cool my grow tent. My temps are 80+ with no light. I'm contemplating a 1hp portable aircon or using c02. I don't like that the aircon takes up so much space, and I can't find any options for something half that size. I don't need 12,000 BTU aircon capability. Half of that would be more than enough. I like that I can actually take advantage of my naturally high temps if I use c02. Much more research to do....
I am very much looking forward to the Kingbrite lights. I will be running 4 plants (white widow, alaskan purplse haze, super skunk, and northern lights
STEFAN I HAVE BAY FROM CHINA IN 8 YEAR I HAVE TOLD ALL GROWER THE BEST COMPANY SO IT IS OK YOU DONT LIKE GEEK LIGHT BUT BEFORE YOU TELL SHIT ABOUT GEEK LIGHT SO LOOK LARST WEEK COME MY NEW 320W MONSTER BOARD AND I CALL THE BOARD THE BEST BUILD I HAVE BAY ALL MY CREE COB FROM KINGS BRITT AND THE COMPANY MAKE GOD BOARD ALSO BUT MY NEW 320W ARE BETTER IN KING BRITT 100% BUT I ONLY HELP FOR GOOD LIGHT
Getting the quantom boards may be cheaper or the sameish with 3 240w quantom boards not getting cree would reduce the price a lot. $442 without cree.
Up to you, but shipping is expensive over 100 for myself. Their qouted price sounds right. Cree costs a lot and they ramp up their prices for it
A board with a switch for 660nm and ir would be nice.
Ouch. I spent 674 on 4 qb 288 from kingbrite. I had Vicky declare a value of $90.00. I did not have any extra fees. But honestly i feared the product being lost in transport. Then i thought will i only be compensated for 90. That didnt happen but what if?View attachment 977550

Had to pay it on UPS.com
Someone suggested I could have asked Abby to write a different price on the import form, but I did not think of doing that at the time.
Is Alibaba a legit site?
Thank you, I noticed that but the pricing was what really got my attention.Yes. It's a Chinese cross between eBay and Amazon. That's how I see it.

I'm currently switching from a 1000 watt double ended hps and from what I can see the bars might be more efficient than the panels for my 4x4 tent.
Does anyone have any input on the matter of light bar systems vs panels?
They're advertising a flowering footprint for a 8x8 tent but I'm calling bs, at 680 watts of actual power consumption I'd say 5x5 at best which would still suit me wellThis is what I was thinking about, waiting to see what the final price will be after shipping View attachment 979671View attachment 979671
