I seen those airbase things in a brochure I got but believe they were $10-12 apiece.
Never seen hygrozyme hyclean before.
Hey, My auto pots have arrived today, I went out yesterday and bought a large bag of the clay balls$50 and a large bag of Perlite$50 with 4 - 4" net pots...Looks like I'm ready to go. I've some work to do I guess. It'll take me a bit to get going but I'll set it up asap...

I thought i would go with the airbase for autopots they were 11.95 a piece bag of clay balls 50.00. Not to much difference and at end of grow i dont have the mess of digging out clay balls for reuse the airbase also comes with center plug if you dont want to use air. Read on blogs some people having PH problems which they blame on the clay balls. I liked the idea of using hyclean because it serves two purposes cleans lines and reduces salt build up in medium also read some people having problem with salt build up later in grow.

I'm still not sure how this system works. The feeding and watering cycle I use now do I continue or do I feed the whole time? I like the idea of using a weekly cleaning, So Hyclean will do that for me then?

I looked at those lifts for the pots and didn't know I could avoid using the balls with them. When I was at the store yesterday I went for the big bag so I'm good for a while now..lol......I jump sometimes without looking and figured while I was spending money I might as well get what I need for a while.

This what the product states HYCLEAN™ will keep your irrigation system & grow media clean by preventing the build up of salts and minerals allowing the plants to absorb critical nutrients during every growth stage. We recommended you use HYCLEAN™ from the very beginning with every watering or nutrient change out until 1 week before harvest. All ingredients in HYCLEAN™ are safe and biodegradable. When used according to the product label, HYCLEAN will not harm any beneficials. It removes excess nutrients, salts, and minerals that may cause toxicities or imbalances, resulting in a higher quality finished product

I've been using Floralicious as an additive with Fulvic & Humic acids and I like it but its dirty and I don't think I can use it in the new pots. It has Kelp & Its not recommended in these systems. From what you posted there this product also helps with the roots absorption of the nutrients and obviously cleaner. I just looked at indoor farmer and they have a lot more than just the auto pots..I put a bottle in my cart, I'll see what other goodies I can add before I place an order....@$23/L I can handle that.

I just looked at that feed schedule & it recommends 8ml/gal on watering days

Its that or gas for me though, If I drive into Halifax and back to pick up a few items its a $30 round trip so it'll cost me one way or another....I balk at shipping charges anyways & when Auto pots wanted $70 well NFW it killed that deal....They have lots of stuff I need I can see me using them for a lot of my grow needs....Thanks for that link, I need an alternative to Amzon. My order history from them shows far too much of my growing life and would be obvious to anmyone that looked at it what this senior is doing in his basement.....The shipping paper was ripped open on delivery exposing what was in the package......its a good thing I'm not as paranoid as I once was.........😎

Don't forget if using clay balls you have to stabalize them so the PH is down to 6.7 I believe.
Take out the amount you will use and run water over them and test it till the PH level is at 6.7
I'm going by memory on the 6.7 but I know they should be stabilized, some already are and some are not.

I guess it depends of what nutrient line you are using. , Some are feed, water, water. Some are Feed, water, Feed, water...etc. I use Element Nutrients line of Myco+, Complete Crop & Flower Fuel at every feeding so it works for me. I sometimes give them a feeding of water only if I see anything changing with the plants or leaves... I'm thinking about having a second reservoir of plain water and using quick dis-connects on the tubing and be able to switch between the 2 reservoirs. Make sense? Wonder if that would work for ya?

Thanks for that tip, nice find!
I searched for it on amazon but no luck, so no free shipping.
Found one site that did not work too bad it was only $24 including shipping
Found another and ordered it $35/500ml tho.

I use Drip Clean (to keep the valves clean) and Zyme (to help the roots) but niether does anything for the salts that build up.
Not sure how much that salt effects the plants but you can never be too careful.
The Hyclean does both so I will be using it.

Do Si Do bit the dust
Soaked some crappy throw away seeds in water for 24hrs then took them out and put in
the last Do Si Do seed, soaked for about 8hrs and now in a damp paper tower in a small zip lock bag
inbetween two scaucers sitting on a warm cable box till morning.
If it don't germ proper I have a plant already started and can use it. (DP or WC not sure)

Works for me as I do have 2 res tanks and good idea using plain water in one.
I could splice an extra line into the main feed line and use the shut off's to regulate which tank is used.

This morning I hoped to have a germ'ed seed with a leg at least.
Nope it's doing the same as the last one.
Barely sticking out.
Guess I will wait till later and then plant it in some soil
see what happens.
I have a nice seedling growing in the veg tent but it's not fem'ed.
Oh well, is what it is.

The paper looks dry I think a bit more moisture is needed. It may get too warm on the cable box and it dries the paper towel out too fast. I've been placing mine in the kitchen cabinet on my dishes so I don't forget them.

I've had my son over for a few days and he throws me off my schedule. I've not done anything with my new pots while hes been here. Tomorrow is the day I get to play with it all.
