Kuwl's AutoPot Grow - Deja Vu

My SD did the same, it's the tallest one of the bunch.
Right now the only one I'm worried about is the QC Blue, the flowers look funny to me,
kinda on the small side, so I'm a watchin like a mother hen.
Checked this morning but I don't see no coconuts yet.

The QCBlue has to be fem, I got them from QCseeds and they have all been great so far. I think you can count on it being fem.......I fkin hope so anyways I want to grow a tent full and I need a bunch of clones before I flip them. I can only see 2 branches almost big enough to cut off mine but I'd like 4 at least...Then I can progress on the next batch with as many as I can handle...

I went down an took some pic's of the 3 plants that are flowering.
Sometimes I notice things when I look at the pic in this forum
that I can't see down in the tent.
I'm thinking if it were it would def be showing by now.
I looked again closely and found no coconuts so I think I am safe.
Probably just a strain thing.
I don't know if I have any clones of QCB but I seen I can buy for $50
and if it good I will be buying :)

Week 2 in Flower

On a whim I threw an axtra 3 gal pot in there.
I figured why not.
I put it in a 3 gal cloth pot and set it in a oil pan with no riser in there.
Sitting on the bottom so it can soak up the water from the bottom.
Like the AP's but without the auto feed lines, Manually feed it.

PPH 5.8 and PPM @ 670
Slowly uping the nutrients
Lots of flowers showing up.
Sour Diesel is the largest with the largest flowers.
Keeping an eye on them.
Not sure if they have stalled with their growing spurt or not.
Will measure daily to see.
They look ok and it's only wk 2

Week 2 in Flower

I figured why not.
I put it in a 3 gal cloth pot and set it in a oil pan with no riser in there.
Sitting on the bottom so it can soak up the water from the bottom.
Like the AP's but without the auto feed lines, Manually feed it.

Just 2 weeks you say, looking good mine are pushing 3 weeks and I think yours look bigger...my red light experiment may throw things off a bit. ...those are all solid fems not to worry now........you also have a bit more space I'm tight in the 3x3......

Hey when do you start the air domes? I've just top fed I hope for the last time and I'll start the pots up in a few more days when it drys up a bit. I was waiting to start the pots but??? wtf I guess I could run it intermittently any time now.
What speed do you run your air pumps at % wise est.? I have a similar pump with 4 jets and a speed control

I run the air only in the day for 6 hrs starting at noon only with the lights on.
That said, I guess I could run them 12/12 same as the lights.
I got mine set at max air flow.

Here is what the manual says about "System Activation"
First - 7-12 days To allow the plants to root
Do not water until 5- 10 days have past the initial watering, to let them roots take hold.
Do not switch on air domes for 2-3 weeks after system activation (not sure I followed that lol)

Panda and Shady kinda get along with the American Bully Skai.
Panda is docile and lays there when Skai comes over but
Shady is another story, he don't like dog, ha, ha
No patience and strikes out at her, hissing but stands his ground.
They get along but I have to put the cats in my room with closed door
when we leave the house to go shopping.
Skai would not hurt intentionaly but like to nip when playing so better safe than a vet bill.

I've been bringing my cat Qnight down with me, I can't get out without him meowing and clawing at me now . He gets leashed and walks with me like a dog hes really good. Black Siamese like, thin strong smart as heck, my little panther wants to go with me any time I leave. I've him down here until lights out tonight. He can get into the garage or come in here and sit next to me on the auto pot box with a board on top. Happy as heck just to be here with me.

Hey, have you ever tried the bales of Promix? It's all I've ever grown in and its pretty forgiving on ph swings. I get a lot of plants grown out of 1 bale that cost me about 35+ tax

Yes it's all I use. Good soil for sure

Not sure where they came from but hope it's not my pump.
I will have to wash out the extra tank I have and switch when
the water level gets low enough, tomorrow.
I had these new 8" bubblers, I ordered when I was using a bubbler clone box
so used one for the res tank since I heard it was a good thing to do.
Never thought to airiat the res water.
Plugged it in the water pump timer so goes on when the pump mixes.
Set my UV to 1.5 hrs.
I up'ed the feed now at 770 PPM
Less Foliage Pro more Bloom.
The PH keeps jumping up a few points every day.
The plants are drinking heavy now.
Fri will be 3 wks in flower.
SD is a beast and had to bend her down, she's stretching nicely.
Keeping an eye on those clones

Shiiit that just reminded me I shouldn't have used a bran new air stone without using it in fresh water first, for that very reason. I hope the filter catches any sand that may wash off the stone. I....also...didn't rinse out the reservoir first, I was so egar to start it up and after I poured in the 6 gallons I could see debris, cat hair, perlite....fk stoned and stupid did it again....lol... I strained off what I could and it looks clean now so eh....70....what can I say.

I ordered 4 potsocks today along with some Diamond Nectar, The GH rep said it was a cleaner choice than Flurolicious I use in Promix.

Fkin timers man...gees I have a bunch going. in my 3x3 The Reservoir takes 1....the air pump takes 1 the lights are on 1 and my 2 reptile heat lamps are on 1....my 5x5 has 1 for the red lights I'm playing with 1 for heater, 1 for 3 lights and 1 for 2 fans I shut off at night & 1 for my lights & heat lamp in the veg closet....I must have forgotten some that doesn't sound like enough...lol....Trying to get them to go off and on at the same times at lights out gets tricky without digital them pull up push down pins can be 5 min off either way

My girls in the Auto pots are happy so far, they're relying on food below now so fingers crossed. For 3 weeks in flower you've bigger buds than mine in my 5x5...just saying I think your pots re working...

Na not the air stone cause it's been ongoing for the last week.
Little fine particles 1000's of em I think it's the pump or for some
reason the nutrients aren't mixing proper.
I'll put a new washed out tank in there tomorrow when the water is down more.
Wash out the pump too and then I'll see what the problem is.
Not effecting anything at this point but a lil worry about the valves
getting messed up and flooding.
All my nuites are Dyna-Gro except for HyClean
Maybe I will skip HyClean just to see if that's the culprit.

I finally got my wiring straightened out and took out another power strip.
I have a total of 4 power strips running now on 2 20 amp outlets.
One for the main light and UV
One for the duct fans and one for the pump and airstone
and one for the vet tent light and flower tent heater.
I mapped it out and took a pic this time so it won't be so
hard the next set up.

I was thinking ................
To use canvas and make the cellar room one big tent.
I could cover the walls, make a doorway and use insulation
inbetween the celling joist to keep the warmth in the room.
It would cost about $80 and I would staple it in place.
It would give me so much more roon at a very low cost.
2 walls are stone + cement, so I would only have to cover
2 wooden walls and make a insulated doorway and about
2 rolls of insulation for the door and ceiling.
Something to think about and maybe do this summer
inbetween grows.
Plus if I could add the 2 outlets I want I could add another light!

Problem with the pump
I took a look in the res tank and pulled out the pump this morning.
OMG I got a mold problem in the res tank.
The pump was covered in it.
That's where all the tiny specks were coming from.
I had to take apart the pump as much as I could and wash it
out with dawn dish soap and bleach then let it run in soapy bleachy water for awhile.
Rinse and repeat until no more specks.
I will have to order a replacement just incase.
Changed the feed lines to the trays also.
Checked the trays and they seem alright.
2 hrs later and I'm bushed.

Now there must be something I can put in the water
to prevent this from happening again'
Never happened before with one complete grow cycle and one half cycle
I never had any mold at all.

So I am wondering if cycling the pump on and off every 2 hours causes
the pump to heat up there by heating the water around it and
causing the mold to grow.
This is the first time I cycled the pump 24/7
I used to turn it on for a while, maybe 5 mins at a time.
Only 2-3 times per day.

So I'm cutting back on how much the pump runs until
I can find an answer to how to keep the res tank and pump clean
from mold. Maybe a tsp of peroxide per gallon idk.
Any help out there would be appreciated.

The pump being submersed in liquid shouldnt heat up solution unless short in pump itself causing steady heat. Could it be nute build up settling on bottom of tank . When you install pump again put a piece of tubing on to pump foot or so and let solution circle the bottom of res instead of uplifting. My two cents

That might be it but it never happened before,
If so I will have to get tubing to fit it or attach the pump to the side wall
instead of the bottom.

To combat the mold and other pathogens growing in the res, most people run either a live res, which is using beneficial microbes to keep the bad ones in check, or a sterile res that just kills everything. Usually sterile res involve using H202 or some form of Chlorine (UC Roots or the likes).
