I spent over 30 years in the wet side of HVAC, Process and Industry. Pumps, Boilers, Chillers, Controls as a manufacture rep for the likes of Bell & Gossett, Aurora, Goulds, Lochinvar, Raypak, Cleaver Brooks, Spence, Hoffman, McDonald & Miller and others. None of them have the factory support and service HLG strives to provide to all there customers. Be them consumer level hobby farmers like myself or big bad ass multinational high investment commercial grows. I'm rarely impressed. I'm now a 61 year old curmudgeon ate up with the don't give a damn anymore that's been growing weed since the 5th grade and have been busted for cultivation and so called distribution in redneck backwards Oklahoma years ago. I've pretty much seen it all. When I stumbled on to HLG 5 years ago or so I found a company that no others need to apply to replace. My pair of 100 V2's @ 4000k are my veg lights of choice and I ran a old 260 kit light for 4 or 5 years in my 3' x 3' tent. It's now been upgraded to Rspec and I bought another Rspec 260 kit and a UVA-30 for my late veg and flower a piece of aluminum plate and I have a killer light that will take me deep into my old age with HLG in my hip pocket. So yeah if I was still interested in working and not retirement I would be doing all I could to go to work for HLG.But you are a sales rep for HLG on Rollitup don't you think we need to know this?

There is a thread on rollitup about it 21 pages long challenging those claims (apparently one can't link to that forum from here?) based on a video that got posted last weekendIf your going to spout statements like this, you'd best have FACTS to support them, not your opinions. Having owned QauntumBoards by HLG since the pre-production models came out, I have never found there to be an issues with "hotspots" . If your burning a plant then you have your lamp way too close period. I've grown a great many plants with HLG products, there are several reasons I've stuck with them: They have consistently produced the best results of any lights I have owned, my original QB 304 pre-production boards are still growing weed, i donated them to a family member who just completed his first grow with them. Next, I KNOW who's LEDs are actually being used, unlike many lights out there. HLG sphere tests it lamps and posts the lab reports for all to see. They post REAL par maps for most of their lamps.
No lets talk about the "LUXX" lamps. NO PPF rating, no efficiency rating, NO mention of who's white LEDs they are using, yeah, buy them.... Synce is a great light. It's real target though is greenhouses and spaces where they can be mounted high. The optics/no optics debate continues, but the supposed gains of optcs is negated by the losses of the optics themselves. If they were truly of value, HLG would be using them. HLG's people put a lot of thought in their design. Unlike the Chines knockoffs, they spent months designing and testing various layouts, various LEDs, drivers, etc. Chill LED... built a good light, and they were caught lying about it's performance.. they'd never get a nickel of my money.
So if your preference for whatever reason is bar style lights, that's fine, but don't be calling a top of the line product's performance trash. Unless your goal is to troll, if so, we can have a different discussion. Post a PAR map that YOU create, in your environment and post it, with pics. Or admit your just talking trash for whatever reason. And yes, I now work for HLG, but I was using their products for years before I took the position.

GML is being a stoner drama queen. You don't do what he did while working for a company and you don't misrepresent product either at the manufacture level or rep level. And with a par meter and some very basic math and electrical readings I've found nothing to indicate HLG has misrepresented there products in eff. output or any other way. Others have dug into this and anybody that is seriously looking at top tier products should do there due diligence and learn about what they are buying, why and how to use it. I've seen these kind of things go down in the industry I worked in for over 30 years and in other industry's. I've seen so much of this crap, the real truth is untimely gone in no time. There is truth on both sides and misrep and info on both sides. While the HLG Scorpion Diablo is a great light, Photontek makes one that puts out more light and cost less money.Gonna go for this I think appreciate the discussion guys

Almost 95% of all LED lights out there are from China, even ones that are assembled in North America have all parts coming form overseas. As cannabis growers we have designed and are just bringing to market our own light. Ours is a 6 bar fixtures that can easily cover 5x5 area and pp to 16-18 plants effectively(bar lights can be customizable and better for coverage area). Its also very versatile in with 3 tunable spectrums, 0-100% dimmable on each channel and controller that runs automation and can house up to several programs. Ours id UL and DLC certified and tested. It was primarily designed for commercial operations mainly for the programable features that do a lot of the work for you but is a great tool for the advanced hobbyist or medical grower. I looked up your Kingbrite light, can't find any DLC information on it only found it on Alibaba. Not much to run on in terms of information but it looks like it could grow a decent plant or two. Do you have any diodes that have gone down, any drivers overheating?

To my knowledge, none of the LED chips used in the grow light industry, other than Cree, are made in the USA. Samsung is a S. Korean company with factories in China and other Asian countries. Osram is German. Epi LED are made in Taiwan. The lights are assembled state side from these foreign made, purchased components. Stating that California Lightworks products are made in the USA is a bit misleading.
I've got a bunch of Kingbrite quantum boards. I have a Spider Farmer SF 4000, and I have an ROI-E720 by Grower's Choice. Frankly speaking, none of these lights significantly out-perform the other. All these lights grow great flowers from my $100 Kingbrite boards to my $1000 ROI E720.
Hlg scorpion diablo is the best light for the money, at just 660 watts it does what other led fixtures with 1000watts can do but cheaper, it's efficacy and spread are excellent.Excellent choice, BTW check out ebay some deals on there for brand new ones NIB. I'm upgrading to the Diablo myself next round...
