Molasses?!
20160307 160313

Under $10 for a gallon of this stuff. Purchased at a sporting goods store.
I dissolve it in water for daily additions to my alfalfa tea.

This is that Alien Rock Candy I pictured before. This time trussed up for flower, after three days under the flowering lights. I have no further pruning plans for the next nine weeks. I hope to fully seed this plant with her own pollen.

And the branch that has been sprayed once per day for the past three weeks.
20160307 160101

If I do any fan leaf pruning experiment it will be on one of the other plants in the room.

Ok so here's 3 days into flower at 11/14 light cycle
Three of these plants are Caramelicoius, the rest are Light of Jah, if you look close you can tell the difference the Caramelicious are the three in the center row. No discernible signs of flowering yet

Good morning everyone. Thought I would post some pics. 2nd week of flower. and the plants were so dense nothing but the canopy was getting light. So decided to go with a thorough defoliation. As always any remarks are encouraged and appreciated!

Hey so simple question that may have been answered.

I'm about three days into flower. I have LST my plant. I still have some fan leaves on the bottom or tied to the planter. If I start today would I be ok to slowly start pruning the fan leaves off starting at the bottom. Something like three fan leaves a week till the are gone? Also have two set of leaves that will produce buds but they are lower then the rest of the canopy. Should I keep those two sets seeing that they will still create buds or should I removed them? And if so is it bad to do that during flowering cuz I hear a lot about not doing it flowering but in veg. I get the feeling ill be ok to trim now but slowly as to not shock the plant.

OK, first of all I think everyone tends to forget that marijuana is a weed as is very resilient and strong. I personally don't worry about shocking the plant as I feel it's good for it to struggle a bit. I would go ahead and defoliate (i.e. removing as many leaves as necessary to get light to the whole plant. I'm attaching some more pics. These images were taken today and the plants were defoliated again yesterday at 10 days into flower. The plants were so think that i couldn't see inside of them. Of course, everyone has their own opinion about pruning and the effects of but that's as it should be. I would suggest that you do what you're comfortable with:)
Peace

Thanks for the advice.

I was also wondering what's a good nutrients to feed the plant with? I have been doing slot of research and tiger bloom seems to be a popular choice. Is that the only thing you feed the plant? Or do you use other nutrients along with that? Or does someone recommend a better choice? I'm coming across some light burn I believe. So I put some trays of water to help with humidity because it's dry in my grow room. Also raised the lights up. (I'm using CFLs) with the tips that are brown on some leaves, should I cut those off or leave them?

Thanks for the advice.

Use CFL's and have been using foxfarms soil trio (big bloom, grow big and big bloom) along with a few Advanced nutrients 'booster/bloom)enhancers....I just recently ordered and started using the General Organics GO Box and, imo, the go box is amazingly better than thatsugar water AN stuff...howe ever the go box only has TWO nutrients SPECIFICALLY for flowering. I'm still planning on keeping some of my AN flowers nutes specifically VooDoo Juice,Piranha/Tarantula, CarboLoad, Big Bud, Nirvana, Bud Factor X(awesome stuff, btw) and probly the AN Overdrive

Morning everyone. I'm now into day 15 of flowering and the following pics were taken this morning.
The plants are currently between 4 and 6 feet, under 4 600 watt lamps. I pull most of the fan leaves every chance I get:)

What was your pruning strategy?

This Alien Rock Candy has been vegging for 12 weeks.

Four main tops with all flowers below half height are removed.
Some lower fans have been cleared out, but I expect the upper fans to last through harvest.

Will probably put a hoop bamboo to affixed two branches and girdle her with string.

You and I have very like spacing.
I have 12 plants, in 3 gallons of super soil pots, and a 4 x 5 foot space.

*Chronic thunder in 18 gallon/
*Banana Crack in 10 gallon soil,
Started February 26....will be vegged another 2 weeks. Given these bushes 3 months+...
Each having its own light, from 750-1000 watts. Topped at 4th or 5th node, LST performed.... I'm expecting in the range of 13+ Chronic
And 8+ Banana Crack....
21+ ozs will tickle my fancy....

Looking forward to August!!!!!!!

I Managed to pull 8 pounds off of 12 plants dried on my way to second flowering week 2

Will probably put a hoop bamboo to affixed two branches and girdle her with string.

You and I have very like spacing.
I have 12 plants, in 3 gallons of super soil pots, and a 4 x 5 foot space.[/QUOT
What was your pruning strategy?

Four main tops with all flowers below half height are removed.
Some lower fans have been cleared out, but I expect the upper fans to last through harvest.

Dunge, Capulator, Rg420, what are your thoughts on using molasses as a soil supplement

Hey Dunge I've got a question for you!! I'm about to start my first super soil grow and I see that you said you run 3 gallon super soil pots. My Q is, is that a 3 gallon pot, or a 5 or 7 gallon with three gallons of super soil?

I'd really like to run a perpetual with three gallon pots if they can supply enough nutes for a pretty small single cola clone rather than one plant in a seven gallon. Sorry I'm rambling. Thanks in advance!
