So this is will be my first diary on THC and honestly not yet ready for anther 3 weeks but I thought I'd go ahead and start this grows diary ahead of time anyway. Last run we had Banana blaze & Blueberry autos grown outdoors under the African sky with local brand nutes

20210101_215610.jpg

This time we taking our grow from outside and bringing it into a 150x150x200cm (approx: 60x60x79') indoor grow tent, a generous gift from a friend, I will also be using and reviewing two 1000W Led Light sold by his company, (how kind of me 😏)

Images 190

Veg time will depand on the preformance of the LEDS but will aim for about 7-8 weeks veg time. (maybe more if i decide to grow out mothers)

RH levels will be kept at 60% veg / 50% mid flower / 30% late flower

Medium will be a mix of Coco, worm castings and perlite (not sure yet of which ratios i will be using in this grow, so suggestions are welcomed)

PH, EC & PPM Targets:

Early Veg - PH 60-6.2
EC 1100
PPM 550

MID Veg - PH 5.8-6.2
EC 1200
PPM 600

Late Veg - PH 5.7-6.2
EC 1250
PPM 625

(Flowring Targets To Be Updated)

Nutes will be, cal-mag, root stimulator, NPK booster and a local brand 3 part (Names to be updated)

The strains will be Blue Dream and Durban Poison by Nirvana

I'm eager to document the Durban Poison strain as its one of my favorite sativas around, who knows might even try cross the two in this run ✌ wounder what I'd call it? 🤔

So I've harvested my smallest plant of green crack FAST by Humboldt, grown under a 300w Led. This means in the next 2weeks i will be ready to start this grow diary.

For this grow I want to try something different and so video documenting instead of pics. Keep in mind I have VERY to no experience in making these type of videos, soooo don't be too harsh on me 😅

Below is my first video attempt at this latest harvest of green crack FAST by Humboldt, I will be doing similar videos for this grows diary and hopefully they will get better 😌

Alright the day is finally here! It took longer than I expected but wanted to make sure I got everything I needed for the right price.

The strains: Blue Dream, Durban Poison, Power Plant & Aurora by Nirvana

The Medium:

So for this run I decided to test a theory that's been circling around the net (especially with a YouTube grower) that you can grow in amended coco, for those who don't know what that is, its baiscly coco which has amendments added to it, such as super soil. Ive grown in coco & perlite for years, its my go to medium, however i have never tried amending it, Living coco? Hmm we ll find out if it's possible. With that said I will also be growing in super soil.

First I washed and buffered a brick of coco with a solution of cal-mag for 16hrs

20210202 083345

20210126 124451

Both Coco & Super Soil will have perlite & Worm castings as well as the same amendments , only difference will be the ratios, Both will be getting weekly teas and top dressing every 4 weeks

The Amendments are a combination of what I've gotten best results with within the years:

  1. Alfafa Meal
  2. Aloe Meal
  3. Basalt Rock Dust
  4. Bio-Char
  5. Canna-Kashi
  6. Calcitic Lime
  7. Diatomaceous Earth
  8. Dolomite Lime
  9. Fulvic Acid
  10. Frass
  11. Guano (Sea Bird)
  12. Gypsum
  13. Humic Acid
  14. Kelp Meal
  15. Malted Barley
  16. Manganese Oxide
  17. Montmorillonite Clay
  18. Soft Rock Phosphate
  19. Zeolite
  20. Mycorrhizal Fungi
20210201 150337

The Lights:

I will be running one 1000W burple light & one 1000W white led for this grow

20210202 132113

I will be keeping the seedlings at 65-70% RH & under the blue light for the first 2 weeks, which I will than lower the light and switch to full spectrum

No way, that couldn't be your first attempt at making a video. That video was excellent, very funny, very interesting and professionally done. You have a gift. Great job, can't wait for the next one.

OK so due to some very sad news in the past month, have not been able to post an update and honestly have neglected the garden abit. I'm back on it and hopefully they will bounce back. Here is how they looking

2weeks old 🌱 abit of yellowing due to lack of Cal mag and neglect, but we can also see the cocos are growing at a faster rate

Decided to give the girls some nice tea today, most of them have recovered nicely and quite rapid. Also toped and LST one of the Durban poisons. Will be applying training to all eventually, so far the blue dream is hands down the prettiest plant in the garden 👌🏼

So i have a friend whos also a grower & he was abit impressed with how my plants in my cocos are growing in my garden this run & asked me what i did differently from all the other times. Well basically my coco is amended this time around as I listed at the start of this thread, like him I used to grow coco/Perlite & syntactic nutes. So i gave him the list of the amendments i used (Also stated in this thread) however he wanted specific information on what each amendment actually did 🧐 I guess hes that type of grower "know it before you use it". I found my self looking at the clock ticking as I spent a good time explaining it to him what each of the amendments were and what they did, so i thought id update my amended list with what they actually do in a much brief way than of what i gave my friend, in case there are growers like my friend

Alrighty a quick update on how the ladies are doing

Run into some pests (Ants & Gnats) but at the end of week 2 of veg they seemed to have recovered, 3 of the Durban Poisons in soil seem to be taking longer but they seem to be recovering aswel. Now to take care of those ants and a few more weeks before we switch those swITCHES😉

They All Dead!!!

20210405 191928

Well..
Atleast the pests are.. The ladies however are doing well but they did have to go through 2 stressful weeks of training, all in attempt to try and keep the canopy as even as possible. After all it's not like we are dealing with small plant strains

Both gnats and ants have been be dealt with a single application of Neem Oil and Sticky Traps

20210405 141635

They are on week 5 of veg and due to space I'm starting to contemplate if weither I should switch them at end of week 6 or be brave and push them upto maybe week 8+ 🤔

One application you say...must be some high test neem?...springtime in alaska here, the lil bastards r still frozen lol

I did apply an organic insecticide which contained PYRETHRINS 5% and CANOLA OIL 89%,1 week before the neem, so that could of been the reason they almost down to zero in numbers
