Getting ready to go to Roatan Honduras in a couple weeks. Stoked :). I Got my whole garage taken apart and cleaned out and it feels really good not to have a large grow where I sleep at night. Secured one of the properties for sure next year and am in negotiation on the other one and it looks like I'm gonna be able to grow there as well. I got all my dirt emptied and the winter crops down. Now all we need is a bunch of rain and I will be one happy camper.

Hope everyone had a good thx giving.

When my purse was taken (while I in the hospital) they got EVERYTHING. I just went to see about replacing my PADI dive card, so I can, you know, still go fucking diving and shit. It's over $40 to replace the card!! AARP? Ain't gonna charge at thing to replace that card. Almost $30 to replace my CDL.

Hubby had a property in Belize, but he let it go to the ex-wifey thing.

That sucks Seamaiden... So someone took your purse while you were in the hospital-- sounds super shady.. My fiancé and I are pretty excited about trying to get dive certified... Hope its not to hard.. 40$ to replace the card is a lot-- why so much I wonder??

Good question! Getting certified isn't that difficult, most difficult thing about it is learning your dive tables. And sticking to them if you're in a really good dive spot. Especially if there's really cool stuff down at 120' and once you're there, you ARE going to see more stuff that's deeper.

And as for the purse, yeah, very shady and it's really fucked me over pretty hard. The cards I can replace, CDL can be replaced, yadda yadda yadda. But I had my grandmother's cremation tags on a key chain my mother made for me, now gone and irreplaceable, as well as the wallet that my son had gifted me some years ago. Oh, and my Rx sunglasses, those have cost me a pretty penny to replace, too. And then there was all the cash I'd been squirrelling away, because I'm good at that. A few bucks here, a few bucks there and next thing you know you've got a few hunny or a grand or three.

In any event, now PADI is making you submit a photo to get a replacement card, too, and they also offer an eCard, so.. I'm really not sure what the deal is. Another way to make money I suppose. All I wanna do is rent some air tanks, mang!

Sounds like a huge headache- sorry.. Im super pumped to go diving its gonna be awesome... Done a ton of abalone diving in Mendocino and Spear fishing but never done scuba.. it should be super fun

You should ask around at the pawn shops near where it was stolen, they may have your glasses. Check craigs list crooks are stupid.

What timeS for light dep do you uncover the greenhouses in the morning with the black tarp and what time do you cover them back up at. @Bulldog11 I always thought u could cover them up in the afternoon and then uncover them later that night so you wouldn't have To get up early in the morning to do it. Does anyone have any advice

I would think following your local sunrise sunset schedule then split the difference so your getting your 12 hours of most intense light possible... But I don't have any experience just brainstorming

For me personally, I get a slight bit of shade in the AM, and in the late PM. So I pulled my tarps from 7:30-7:30. I have heard from many trusted sources, that some strains don't like the tarp being pulled during the night cycle. Even if it's dark out, for some reason some strains still hermi.

I would say to pull your tarp as late as possible, when there is still sunlight, and work 12 hours backwards. Afternoon sun is better than AM sun, and the temps aren't hammering down on your tarp.

@Blaze -- IIRC that's close to what he does. Look up his posts on light depping.

I keep getting an error message when I try to search the forums for light dep. is this happening to everyone. ??

Does anyone have any good threads on light dep and different methods.

Huh, WTF? Me, too. You can't use any search strings that are three characters or less, go to Google and add "@thcfarmer.com" to the string and the first hits will be from here.

But the search function doesn't seem to be functioning for me, either. Weirdness.

I pull mine at 5:30 and then off again once it gets totally dark at around 10pm. The time you want to pull will vary a bit depending on time of year, how far north you are, and the location of your garden. You will want to look at what time the sun rises and work 12 hours back from there. Having the tarp out off at night helps prevent humidity build up from plants transpiring at night as well.

I've done the 8am-8pm schedule as well and much prefer the 5:30-10 schedule, it makes life a lot easier. Plus you can always pull the tarp off later than 10 if, for example, you are out late. I have done the 5:30-10 schedule for year now with over 15 different strains with zero issues. In fact just about everyone I know in Mendo has switched to the same type of schedule with no problems, I really don't know anyone locally that deps on a 7-7 or 8-8 type schedule anymore.

Thx blaze. I think I'm gonna do the 530 pm time to put the tarps on and then wait a couple hours and take them off before I go to sleep. That way they can breathe all night. My buddies both recommended doing the 7 to 7 thing so people definitely still do it.

I was gonna build four hoop houses that are gonna be about 9 feet wide. 9 feet tall. And about 80 feet long. I was gonna start about 600 blue dream plants at about April 10th. Gonna have 5 shop lights and three heaters in one of the long hoop houses and start all the plants in there. I was gonna grow them kinda big and then transplant them into 10 gallon pots. I was gonna keep them with the supplemental lighting until May 20th and put out about 180 of them into their big 300 gallon pots for full term. I was then gonna plant the remaining 300 into 100 gallon pots inside of the hoop houses. I was gonna plant 3 plants in a 100 gallon and let them grow for another month and get nice and big before I cover them with the tarps. Is this a good plan. What are the flaws. I think that covering the plants in July at 530 pm might make it to warm inside the tarp and cause problems. That's why my friend recommended doing the 730 to 730 thing because of the milder temps.

If you are going to do a dep that late in the year, then yeah, you might want to do 730 to 730. I think your plants will be much to large by July though for the size of the hoop house you are talking about. It is important not to crowd them too much, don't forget dep plants are more like indoor, you need to allow room for the stretch that occurs during flower. You want the maximum amount of canopy as possible, but at the same time, you don't want them over crowded and growing into each other.

Also in my opinion deps do much better when you do them earlier in the year. I always shoot for a harvest between the last week of June and the first week of July. The later in the summer you go the more heat stress your flowering plants will have to go through. Plus if you can have your hoop house cleared by mid to late July you have ample time to replant and get a 2nd harvest.
