The first post with closeups is assorted, I was just snapping pics and didn't pay attention to which strains. The second post, top and bottom, is Chemdog 91 x Talk of Kabul and the last three pics in post three are Purple Diesel. For anyone who might be wondering.

Big rain last night. Checked and no more broken branches this time. Bad is of the seven broken branches I mended up from the last storm only one looks like it will make it. If I would have had them tied up on that storm things would have went better. Next storms are due in on the first week of November. Much of the plants should be trimmed and drying by then so I`m thinking of saving the plastic for next years grow and may make the rows into greenhouses . I`ll check up on the projected weather in a few days and decide.

Forecasters are always wrong..The most they can see is a few days out..

Well forecasters get more accurate the closer a storm gets.
Nobody else around here has any of there crops covered, unlike in Humboldt . We get a lot less moisture than in Humboldt Co.
The advantage of a greenhouse would be to block wind and retain heat towards the end of the grow season. It would also allow for co2 and protect lights from the weather allowing for a longer grow season. The bad would be humidity control which would be hard to control without power. You can set up automatic passive vents and even solar powered venting in the day time but lights, fans, venting at night and even co2 would be tough without steady power. I`m just not sure yield would increase enough to make it worth the investment. It already costs a bunch to pull off a fair size grow of outdoor. Seems ever trip to the hydro stores costs more than the last trip.
I`m thinking next year starting an early auto flower grow and then a regular grow. If I could set up the green houses with blackout tarps I could induce flower early and then put in a third grow, but then I`d need heat even in a greenhouse. All is possible with enough money for the equipment and supplies, even with out power lines!

After careful review I support CCHI 2014
The only reservations I have is the tax for commercial sales...But I find a loop hole in sales for medical use .( I consider all cannabis for consumption to be medical)

So when I checked and the first post I did with close-up pics of colas is my Dad's Coughdrop Kush.
Just amazing. Frosty, huge colas for having been planted late, some of them thicker than a soft ball at the bottom and a foot an'a half or more high.
And the smell! They smell soooo sweet, like MJ flavored candy. I just stood there huffing on them for like ten minutes this morning lol.
Also the Purple Diesel is looking great. I haven't tried that strain yet and I'm really looking forward to getting seriously baked on some P-Diesel. :) Dad (MC) says the PD should be finished soon, at least the ones in the little pots (pictures of them somewhere back on this thread...eleven little pots) and that's all going to be personal smoke so I shouldn't have long to wait!

Ready to put the metal roof up on the dry shed. I got the roofing all cut today and spent the last two days working on the tresses putting them up. The plywood is all ready for the walls but I`m needing more wall support and will need some hinges for the door way. Right now the dry shed is my number one concern. I still need to put up the barb wire and cans but the alarms are up and running. I`m still thinking about if I want to put up the plastic on the tents or not. It`s been cool at night and not sure how much longer the plants will keep putting on bud full steam. The Caughdrop Kush is already getting large colas as it the God`s gift .Most of the more indica strains are loaded with bud. If they keep it up much longer even tying the plants won`t help them from breaking from their own weight. I guess this is a good thing.

Been having problems with tweekers up the road again. They are here for one reason, to rip people`s grows. They came in at 4am in three cars last night and started shooting then run chain saws until 7:30 am. Bunch of us growers did some target practice all at once around 9am and we haven`t heard much from them after that. They keep showing up every few days and cause a stir each time they do. I found bare foot prints on the road one morning! An other time I`m way down the road at the creek and one shows up on my land shooting his 9mm. Guy was in thin cotton shorts, wife beater, and sandals in the woods, kept falling down and dropping his gun. He was yelling at me but couldn`t hear very well over the pump. When he got to me he lightened up when he saw my gun on my belt.
I guess they tried to run the growers next to me off there own land awhile back. Came right into the grow armed and accused them of being on there land. The tweekers don`t even own any land near here, they are squatters. What asses! They got every grower near here all armed up and we have been having meetings. Everyone is now looking out for each other.

Windy and cold, but clear. Going to try to get some work done despite being up half the night on watch. Girls are tied up good for the wind but I`ll be doing some checks on them. It`s a north wind so It`ll be drying everything out. Thinking I have 20-25 days until some stuff might be ready for the cut? I always run mine late. Some people have started harvest. Most will start in a week or two.

I`m starting to get concerned. My plants are not finishing. They just seem to be happy putting on more and more bud. They are frosty as hell and while all that is good, I`m worried they will collapse from the weight of the large hard buds alone. I have them tied up about as much as I can and that will help but at this point I`d rather they stop getting bigger and start to mature more. I`m all for the super frost I`m seeing on them though. They are also a beacon to rippers as you can smell them from a long distance now. This is becoming a vastly impressive grow ,much better than I had hoped despite the late planting and smaller starts. I`ll still feel better when it has all been harvested and safe. I could still have many problems. It`s been a lot of work but so far I`ve avoided most pests ,mold, rippers, etc. I`ve only had a few leaf hopper/leaf eaters. Not even one caterpillar! There are a lot of lady bugs and more than normal amounts of pray mantis this year. Earth worms are so abundant that the soil has small hills of castings built after each watering. I don`t know but it seems a little too good! Maybe I`m just a worrier? Hell I`m becoming a nervous wreck !

Love that Coughdrop Kush. It really does smell and look great. I go out and sniff them every morning. They have this really sweet, slightly fruity smell. Almost like a grapefruit scent maybe?
I have seen my Dad gathering up every Praying Mantis he sees and put them in the garden. I see them when I water. One of them kinda skittered away from the water, and then walked up too it....dipped its little claw in the water and then bent down and started drinking. It was just sort of neat because I've never seen a Praying Mantis do that before. I have seen them snatch up a grasshopper and rip its head off in nothing flat...........Praying Mantis are actually sort of terrifying creatures, uber-predators.

Maybe some bamboo sticks ?The stems should be strong though.As long as the buds don't get water n them..Buds should be done 3rd week of oct.Unless you got sativa leaning strains.

Been using bamboo sticks already. On two plants had three sticks and they still bent over and almost broke the stems. (And the stems are 4-5 inches across.) Hope your righ joeca 1i but mine seemed to be running behind most other people`s around here. I have some strains that are indica Dom and some Sativa Dom. Most are indica. Stigmas should be dried and ovaries swelled. Resin crystals should be at least 60% milky to 40% amber No clear or black resin crystals. I like mine 40-60 myself. It`s done when it`s done anyway. You can`t rush quality! Lot of people get excited with genetics but as I keep saying that`s only half of what it takes to get the great bud. It` also the environment or grow ability/style.

Work is keeping me from posting more. I have the roof on the dry shed and half of the walls done. I still need to put up the plastic before it rains again. Also need to put up more alarms, barb wire, and cans. Then I can work on moving and making the RV level , putting up skirting, and a better TV antenna. The RV cover will be last as it will cost and take time but it needs to be done before any snow.
More of the plants are starting to finish now. It`s been cooler at night. Getting some purpling also. Dam it smells so sweet around here!
