love you when you give em that tea~a~brewin .. I was wondering Does bat guano
attract wild animals?? I once used a fish Fert.. and because the resident Groundhog
liked the smell he dug my plant up.. didnt really hurt it other then of course a little shock
but replanted and that plant came through fine.. Never used anything except basic plant
food's since.. plus some byosoil with 10-15-10 Plant food ... which I actually just fed
like last week becuase they werent looking a green as id like.. no issues other then snails
& slugs little f-ers...lol thus far knock on wood.. https://www.thcfarmer.com/community...-be-a-good-summer-and-even-better-fall.73800/

Fish ferts can attract bear and they have been known to dig plants up trying to find the fish. Never had a problem with any other kind of ferts . My girls are in above ground planters which are on top of solid granite rock. That may be why I have`t had much problems with gofers or anything like that.

yep I decided to add an other bag of ferts to the batch this morning . Use a big section of tee-shirt and tie it off with cord going to a stick. makes a big tea bag and nothing in the mix to plug up a pump. You can`t beat bat guano and kelp for a big boost in growth. Bat guano also helps put the weight on in flower and packs the frosting and flavors in the flowers. I use a lot of different stuff as well. I adjust the mix for the plants needs along the way. Kind of hard to explain, it takes years of growing to be able to read the plants and know what they need.

I noticed there are very few rats and mice around this year. Now I think I know why. Saw a young cat in the garden last night. Someone must have dumped it off in the woods. I hate people who do this . If they won`t get there female cats fixed they should take the time to find homes for the kittens , not dump them off in the wild! Well it may never be tame now but at least it eats some of the rats and mice around here and that helps. I`m thinking of leaving water out for it and maybe some times some food. I just don`t want to end up feeding every critter in the forest! There were two kittens living on there own out here a few years ago but something must have gotten them. Maybe fox, we have a lot of them around.

Got to get at my chores and fetch some water today. went to town last night for fuel. It`s gone up about 14 cents a gallon. No reason for that as we are a wash in crude . They even have most of the available tankers full and floating around in the gulf because there`s no storage to be found! I hate corporations and greedy investors ! We need to get the banks, corporations and larger investors under control in this country before they completely take over our Government ! These people don`t work for a living , they steal from those who do ! That saying I`m a capitalist, but one who believes in moral and ethical business practices . I just think we all should have a fair shake to work hard and become wealthy, not just the few. I`m really more of a liberal libertarian I guess. I believe in ultimate rights for the people, more so than our Government founders even allowed for. I would like to see our homes and lands we actually live on to be protected by law with the idea of home rule and the castle doctrine. Your home is your castle, and that`s where the village stops and the freedom should be ultimate.

I got the plants watered with half the tea. I`ll add some more water to the 325 gallon tan and wash it into the soil on the next watering. Kind of spaced on fetching more water so far today. Smoked a big bowl of hash and running the stereo and AC while the 12v batteries all get charged up. I`ll try to fetch some water later and again in the morning until the tanks are full again. Son and his GF coming up Friday, maybe one of my daughters as well? Got to get a list for them to get done for me. God Bless them!

I`ve seen the same bug but it was light green, not sure what it is or if it eats plants or other bugs.

I got two loads of water then my son and his GF showed up. My daughter couldn`t make it because her worthless ex wouldn`t take the grandkids. We pulled stumps and placed the water tanks. Just need to put thr valves on them and they are ready to fill. We then worked on the barb wire security fence a little. His GF vacuumed the rv`s and trucks out and put a utility cart together for a battery wagon. I`m tired of carrying batteries back and forth to charge and use them, went through three pair of pants being burned by acid also. He`s coming back on Sunday to work some more.

The problem with leds are they need to be near the surface of the plant tissue as the light wave dissipate with distance. They create a lot of heat per watt and they still make a lot of residual light that needs to be contained in the grow area. The real problem I have is getting a cover that is affordable and easy enough for one old disabled guy to cover / uncover the greenhouses by himself in the early hours and under adverse weather conditions so that light hours don`t cause flowering in veg. This also needs to be done in an off grid situation. They do make a few covers for light deprivation that would do the trick but they are way out of reach cost wise. I don`t think power is going to be a big factor as a generator would only need to be used a few hours a day to increase light hours to around 18 per day in veg. The sun would do the rest just fine even in winter. Cold would also be a problem in winter but if the greenhouses were double layered for insulation and the beds insulated the sun would keep it worm enough in the day time and it would only take a small heat source at night to keep it warm. Maybe some portable oil or propane heaters would do the trick and not be to expensive. Fans could be run by solar with 12v batteries and an inverter. Exhaust fans I have and are solar. durning flower I`d need to keep the humidity under control as well. In the end I need to control every aspect of the environment, just like an inside grow, but with partial help from the sun.

I could run year round or if yield is good just in the winter leaving me able to take time off during the summer instead of the winter time. It`s still liable to have a lower yield than a summer greenhouse but I think the quality could be made nearly the same as indoor. Set up would be more than an indoor grow and running it all off grid is not only a challenge but would be more costly as well. The perks would be it would be safer from rippers, county code inspectors, and give me more time when the weather is nice in the summer to see my Grandkids or go fishing!

Got the valves on the 1500 and 1100 gal tanks and going to fetch water all day. Hope I did it right and they hold! used 325 gallons of tea on the plants this morning and going to try to poke the sprouts below the screens tonight before dark. I also need to get fresh water for the RV tank and clean out the spring. Son`s coming sunday and we will work some more on the security fence. Then going to finally put up the insulation around the beds before putting on the side screens. Next up will be the end frames vents, doors etc. So mus=ch to get done and the list keeps getting longer.

Up early today to beet the heat. We got three strands of barb wire up on the security fence and ready to attach coils of wire on next. got the 1100 gal tank full and working on filling the 1500 gallon tank next. I use 500 gallons on the garden yesterday so also need to make that up and fill the 325 gallon tank used for making tea. I`d like to have the 225 gallon transfer tank in the truck full and give the girls an other dose of water today or tomorrow. Got all the sprouts tucked under the screen yesterday, it took over an hour. They are about 65% full now, going for 80-85 % before I`ll let them grow what will become colas. looking very good! need to pick up some more plants this afternoon. yes a little late but they are 4ft. tall. these will fill out in my lower greenhouse giving me 60+ plants. I may need to invest in a few 200 gallon grow bags and some soil. not sure where to put them. I may keep some as mother plants or if I can get to it make an indoor grow in the back of the office trailer? I plan on it anyway, just not sure how to use just the front to dry and trim the Fall crop if it decides to be a wet one. I used 80% of the space to dry last year and the rest to trim in. I could have used more space for drying if I`d had it. Hoping to cramp up the plants and get by with the space until I can get the plants dry this year , then convert the back room back into a grow room some how. Also thinking of making a lean-to roof off of the back of the office trailer to cover the wood splitter and diesel generator when it rains. Maybe I could hang some under there with a fan on them until they are partly dry and rotate them inside to finish drying? I could also use one greenhouse to dry in after I get it cut enough. dam I hope to get enough to have these problems! The market looks real good with the drought and three more counties going nearly plant less because of the new code laws there should be hundreds of thousands of less plants grown this year over the last few years. If I can get in a bumper crop I just might have enough to have a good start fixing up my little farm this year. I know the prices local are up about 3-400 per unit for this time of year!

Got three loads of water early this morning before the spring started to slow down for the day. I might try to squeeze an other load out of it tonight but there`s enough water in the 1500 gallon tank to see that the new valve will hold water good. I`ll try to get three loads or more a day until I have everything watered and all the tanks full. sure takes a lot of trips for just the 1100 gallon tank. I think my water transfer tank is 225 gallons ? About as much as I want to carry in a 3/4 ton truck anyway. Off to pick up those clones as soon as everything gets charged and the RV is cooled down a little.

Spam post? I don`t even eat spam , tastes nasty to me! Can`t remember seeing any spam posted on my thread , but thanks I guess !

Coundn`t get ahold of the clone guy. got a few loads of water, need more. Going for one load this morning after chores them going to pick up my daughter and take her out for lunch and a movie with my grandson." I`ll be back! "

OK the movie was nice, having lunch led to me financing a car loan for my daughter. Took up a lot of time and set me back on filling all my water storage. I got 4 loads today and will need 3-4 more tomorrow to get them full. My son and his GF came for the day and worked some more on the security fence. My project is to get up on both RV`s asap and patch and seal them. then work on insulating the outside of the beds before putting on the side screens. Then the ends need done. Next will be working on ythe office trailer and then.... (the list just keeps on growing and growing ). Didn`t get the sprouts pushed under the screens today. Just couldn`t make the time. I checked on the clones. Well they are 4` plants from seed and a little less bushy than I`d like. Most are not yet showing sex at about 2 months. I`ll burry them deep after cutting off a few bottom branches , bend them at the top, trim the roots and use root excel. They should branch out some. Not sure I`ll do a SCROG on the last row in the third greenhouse. It`s a little late on starting for that. Oh well 50 of them will be under the screens anyway. Oh started an other batch of tea today.
