Also, I didn’t realize I should subtract my water EC from the fertilizer/water solution EC to get to the appropriate level for feeding. Am I understanding that correctly? Say I am supposed to feed 1.0 EC, and my water is 0.5 EC, then my feeding solution should be 1.5 EC? (my cheap TDS meter says my water is 310 ppm / 0.62 EC).
This nugget is particularly helpful though. “EC of drained water – original EC = excess EC... and
Original EC – excess EC = EC value for the next watering”
The one article says soil based grows don’t have to worry about water EC as much. Obviously there would be a limit to that. Hoping that’s true because I don’t want to purchase a RO system.
I’m taking water samples to a lab tomorrow, so I’ll probably have some questions about that at some point. I’ll start a new thread tho so I don’t blow yours up haha.
Little wind. Looks just right. Makes me wanna take up kayaking. Hell I haven't been fishing yet this year
closed the schools down and bussiness taking percautions that about it here, nothing blown out like most tell me,i havent kept up with any of it,my wife look at it ever now and then ,i just dont care, hahahah, thats the least of my worries.
i forgot what fishing and boating was anyway,i got a 25 hp mercury laying on my sidewalk ,the boat is 4 hrs away at my cabin sitting in oh about 6ft deep of weeds hahaha, just dont have any spunk left ,i get there one day and get it in the back of my truck hahah
on the hannah scale ,or 500 scale 1.0 ec is 500 ppm,so if you are trying to feed 500 parts per million and you already have 0.5 which is 250ppm you only add another 0.5 or 250 ppm to have a total of 1.0 or 500ppm on the hannah 500 scale, regardless of what scale ec is always the same.but when it say feed at 1.0 that is a total number mate
I'm, (By virtue of over buying) currently a pH perfect guy. I always questioned the use of all three components from start to finish... I only started achieving measureable results once I gave in and did it. I'm very happy I scrolled down! This is super useful.Oh you have just put the puzzle together in my brain. That;s why faster bud onset and I have been seeing reports of PK used 1 week before flip for about 3 weeks having good results in more than a couple places. So WTF do ll the nutrient companies direct it after flip and for the whole duration of flower??? I'm gonna say $$$

I'll run out of pH perfect finally after my fall crop. I was considering switching to the remo line of nutrients... Any suggestions? Something user friendly lol?Guess the individual bottles are not complete? Fox farm trio is like that.
I use a complete balanced nute all the way through.

Cheers! Many thanks!

ive been using this humbolt secret A & B with golden tree, really clean product ,easy use and ive used in both soil and coco,2 runs and i still have right at 1/3 rd bottles left of a and b,im not one to throw a bunch of next best things at my plants though, basic shit that itI know many growers are happy with the trio but i never jived with it. Loved ocean forest with added large perlite but never had happy plants with their bottled nutes.
I dont like how they purposely leave out key nutrients so you need more of their bottles.

have you tried ditching the silica ?might not need ph down if you do so,silica rise the ph pretty quick at least the stuff i use to use did, armor or something along those lines,i ditched it and if plants needed suport later in i just tied them up to hold umIm using 3 bottles for the first time in years. Foliage pro at 2.5ml per gallon to 7.5ml. Looks like that will be the most i need at a time.
Protect (silica) at 1ml to 3 ml.
And ph down because the well water and protect raise my ph out of range even with 5ml foliage pro.
I will likely experiment with leaving out the ph down anyway. But i do see the plants uptaking nutes right away with the ph adjusted to about 6.2 in promix.
But i am seeing some drop over time with the plants i fed the most. Skipping the ph down is usually the fix for that.
