That is what I found on google as well haha.

How to get rid of pests and little bugs in weed plants

Spider mites, root aphids, and fungus gnats are three pests that can disrupt your cannabis plants. Learn how to get rid of little bugs in weed plant soil from Leafly.

@MIMedGrower I have luckily never had to deal with root aphids, but I can tell you that I read somewhere that there is a 50/50 chance that it will be a root aphid and I don't have to ever have any valid proof to back up my statements that I portray to unsuspecting victims as facts. What do you think we are, logical adults?! (I was just hoping that a reference joke would ease the pain of root aphids a little) I truly hope that you are able to figure out a course of action and eradicate the root aphids. Positive vibes...

Haven't fought the root aphid battle myself, but PFR-97 claims to be effective against them.

Cool. Thats like botaniguard. But at $80 per quart i may try h202 first.

I just need to nurse some plants for 6 weeks and set up a new tent and grow in the basement in a tent i bought and never used.

Yeah, it's super expensive for the initial investment, but I use like a tenth of a gram with each watering so it lasts a looooong time.

You are right to suggest this. After some reading it is the number 1 treatment.

As I continued to read about it, I wanted to write you back and also suggest h2o2. I have read good things about the hydrogen peroxide flush but don’t have personal experience. I spoke with my uncle as well who is a well established personal grower and he suggested 1 part h2o2/4 parts water. Don’t use h2o2 too often because it could harm the roots. It seems like a more budget option. Here’s a great article.

Yup. We decided to start drenching the pots as they start to dry out. They are all on different watering cycles. Its going to suck.

6 years of perpetual in the same rooms or so. I was bound to finally get bugs eventually. Im worried they will migrate to the basement. I read they lay eggs in the walls.

I sincerely hope not MiMed. You don’t deserve that BS. Let us know how it goes and if there is anything else I can do to help you. Going to continue reading up on the root aphids. Good luck and bomb those fuckers.

That article is a great reference for treatment. If they show up in the tent after all i will invest in the botaniguard. It will be far easier to clean a tent completely than this old bedroom.

Thanks for your help man. Appreciated!

Not a problem. I learned a lot researching thus far. I do have another question. Do you have bags of soil in close proximity where the infestation is? If so, check those bags and make sure they haven’t migrated into your unused bags of soil.

I have a soil bin in the veg/lung room and have not determined if the veg tent is infected.

I have plenty to do.

Root Aphids have a weakness in that the adults need to fly round just above the soil to attract a mate, this makes them fools for yellow sticky cards, knock off the adults, and there's no grubs. What I do when I grow in pots is cut a hole in the sticky card and cut a slit to the hole, and just place it round the trunk of the plants, always seems to control them, just don't start counting what's on the cards, it's very addictive. lol
