I don’t know really what I’m doing with ppms. All I know is that it is a useful tool when using nutrients to read the plant as well as what I put in her. Like just before my last rez change I noticed ppms weren’t dropping within a 24 hr period so I did a res flush and cleaned everything out. As soon as I started putting nutes after the res change she started eating again. I think she was in a lockout situation with too many salts from nutes but I could be wrong idk. Imo She should always be eating ppms so if she isn’t then something ain’t right imo. This is just my experience with the relation to how she grows and looks. I can see an immediate change in her visually when I do something different. I use all the tools I have and play around mostly just to see how she reacts I then use the thcfarmers members input then I use all that information to extrapolate future decisions to make her happy. In summation I find a base to work with, then I fine tune all of my resources in relation to how she responds. If she’s growing, green and smells nice then I’m good or should I say she’s good.
PPM should stay static, or the same. If PPM rises the plant is ignoring nutrients and drinking the water. Loss of water and nutrient amounts stay the same, and the PPm reading goes up. The PPM will never fall unless you add water to the reservoir. Always top off with the same mix /ppm you used during the current swap.

PPM is an overall reading of the mineral content of the water. EC is Electrical Continuity and is just a different way to read it. Because metals or minerals in the water allows water to become a conductor of electricity. So it’s just one and the same on a different type of scale.

You use GH products. Use and do not deviate from their feed charts, they have perfected it for you already and there is no need to deviate.

Day 51 after germination. I decided to lower the light intensity. She drank most of the water from the res, however there is just enough in the res to cycle a trickle through the system. Ph stayed exactly the same. She got some newer growth and the new growth is substantial. She’s getting bushy and very green. Zzzz

Bro, I’m new but I’m not positive you’re reading your PPMs correctly. It’s my understanding if your PPMs are dropping that means your plants needs more nutes.

If PPM stays the same as water level lowers, that means the concentration of nutrients in the water is well balanced and the plant is absorbing it.

If PPMs rise that means your plant is taking in water but not the nutes because it’s too much for your plant.

If I’m wrong, please school me.

Day 54 after germination. Over the past few days I defoliated about 35% of her fan leaves. It’s a lot but will leave room for the lower bud sites to come up. I figure in about another week I will take a few clones and then flower her. I also performed a res change yesterday.

She looks healthy! Huge jump in PPM, why the change?

You would get a little more following here if you were to explain a little bit why you make such random, drastic changes to your plant. I don’t see your end goal. I see your making major changes and adjustments, but what for and why? I don’t understand where you are taking this. Is this experimental or are you going for success? I can’t tell which you are going for.

These are the clones I got out of her. The smallest plants took the longest to root but was very successful at rooting all the clones with no hormones and just good ol fashion propagation with a clean razor and some rock wool soaked in 6.0 ph water a heating pad and a humidity dome. They really have taken off these last few weeks.

Day 100 after germination. Day 5 of flower. I counted over 25 top colas. The canopy has filled about 65% of the total tent sq and the canopy sits perfectly under the sf4000. Raised light intensity to 30%. Weather station came back online. Will be getting 2- 8” ac infinity charcoal filters with the CLOUDLINE Inline Fan with Controller, and I’ll be using an intake carbon filter and exhaust filter on one duct and will use the controller to maintain the weather (RH and TEMP) for the rest of the flowering time. Performed a res purge with RO water and h2o2. Added some flora nova bloom about 35ml to 11galons of RO water and a little extra goodie I’ll be trying out this grow.

Day 105 after germination. Day 10 of flower. Lowered light intensity as I have been observing an imbalance in temp/humidity or increase in temp to humidity ratio which throws off the VPD (increases it) so in order to have her in the sweet spot all day with the light on, the Intensity will have to be at 30%, 35% max. With the light intensity at 30% I have consistent readings of 1.3 kPa VPD throughout the day cycle. 8 out of the 12 gallons of water are left, she’s consuming 4 gallons in 5 days. . 2-3 more days and will purge the system.
