Here's that leaf just now. all the damage stopped with that and one other leaf cuz I caught it early! they present differently but imo it's the same issue

After:
20190807 081432

Same plant, other leaf: Before
20190703 195801

After
20190807 081443

The first thing I did was flush to stop progression; then after going through my notes decided to treat it for a nutrient imbalance &/or excess

Thanks to everybody who took the time to help me sort out my issues. I decided I would cover my bases. After I let the soil dry out really good after my flush I went and got some organic plant food that had about every nutrient I saw mentioned here on our forum. I took a gallon of distilled water added half the recommended rate with alittle dolomite. Shaken and completely dissolved I soak the plant til it ran out the bottom. From this point on its getting a mix of sun n shade and nothing else until the soil needs watering again at which time i will test the soil and run-off again. ✊🏾🤙🏾🖖🏾

P.S I bought a grow tent because Im thinking of doing a grow during the winter. 🤓

***UPDATE***

Hello Farm!

Well its been awhile since my last update so I wanted to share what’s been going on. My plant is looking better than it was. I feed it once a week. I use rain water that i collected to water on normal days. I also trimmed her some, just the very big leaves. It allowed more light into the middle. I still have a bug problem even tho I spray with neem/dawn/monterey with spinosad once a week. Overall she looks great to me, strong. Here are some pics....btw I think she is starting to flower. 🤓

Greetings Farmers!

I am in my 2nd week of flower and I noticed some of my leaves are turning yellow along with some of the leaf stem turning a reddish purple. I tested my run-off and its at 768ppm, ph is 5.6 (alittle acidic) would that cause these changes or is that normal when a plant goes into flower?

Yes it's possible that you're seeing some lockout, albeit mild at 5.6? I recommend adding Dolomite lime to all soil grows, good luck

The red coloring in the stems isn't unusual... if it looks like veins, it is usually a deficiency, but if it is fairly uniform along the tops of the stems (where the light hits it), you are probably OK. I agree that your Ph is a little low. A dose of wood ashes will help to restore the Ph, along with a bunch of other products. Fixing the Ph might be enough to allow the locked out nutrients to resume being taken up, just be careful adding nutes to it until you get the Ph issue resolved, otherwise the plant can sometimes get overwhelmed from the addition of nutrients combined with the nutrients that are now unlocked. 768 is a little high, in my preference, for use in most soil or soilless mixes. This could also be pulling your Ph down, as most nutrients lower your Ph.

That fertilizer you used (a couple posts prior) could be the cause of the red/purple you mentioned. That's an NPK ratio of 3.66-1-2.67. You're in early flower? As a proportion, that's pretty low P. Even in veg, I never go above 2-1-1.8. In that stage of flower, I'm around 1-1.2-1.8. (It depends on the soil. I'm growing in something now that, for the first time I've had to feed closer to the ratio of the product you used. It's not unheard of, apparently. But, generially that's a pretty high N, low P ratio for that stage of growth.).

It may not be related. Could be genetics. I just wanted to mention it. MiracleGro Tomato is ratio 1-1-1.2. 5/8 tsp/gal is safe to use (assuming the soil isn't loaded with nutrients. In my world, 768 runoff ppm isn't very strong, doesn't suggest high nutrient buildup. If your nutrient mix were 768ppm, that would be too strong IMO.).
