Loompa, I am sure his is project that would be a few generations out, but I would definitely like to see a cross using the Chem D x Columbian GOld and the UD x Vietnamese Black. That would give a serious sativa buzz with some newer flavors adding in that fuely funk. I am sure within that cross you would be able to find a few phenos that finished in the 10 week range.
You keep referring to the desire to create a Haze type line, have you looked into Metal Haze at all? It was a project Dutch Flowers had worked on some years back. I have never worked with the line myself, but the intent of the project was to create a true Haze that could be grown indoors and flower in a 10 week window. I am not sure how easy it is to source the Metal Haze, as I myself have never even seen samples (though the difficulty finding it may be due to the lack of interest in Haze varieties in favor of OG varieties). But if you can source some seeds or a cut, it could be worth trying to breed with.
I personally love Haze varieties and would love to see you work a Haze based line. Think of the possibilities of a UD/Haze cross. There could be some wonderfully hazy varieties with a bit of citrus and fuel funk.
I would also love to see you work the hell out of that Daywrecker cut. A cross of your UD with the Daywrecker would be unreal. Talk about some straight Chem type fuelly funk, that is the cross that could really bring back the flavors of the original Chem line in a solid seed form.
I am stoked you have a nice Blueberry cut you are going to work with. That blueberry flavor is something that has been completely passed over for the taste of OG and Sour D. I would love to see some really Blueberry heavy crosses out of Loompas Farms. The BB x UD sounds great, but I have to admit I would love to see you work that Blueberry with something other than OG/Chem type lines. Maybe a Blueberry/Durban cross would provide some truly unique flavors and effects. Ultimately I am excited to see you bring back some of the flavors that were around before the Kush an OG crazes hit. I remember some of the flavors from the late 90's that just aren't found anymore these days; flavors that included black pepper, dirt, kitchen spices, hash, skunk and incense. Those are still truly my favorite flavor profiles, mostly because those are the flavors I remember from when I first started smoking.
Ultimately I am sure whatever it is you work on will be amazing by the time it is released to the public. So I am simply looking forward to whatever you work on and release. Thanks for your hard work, everyone at Loompa's Farms, and thank you for accepting the input of the public.
Hmmm BB x UD.. Hmmm those sound fantasic man. Im witcha on the haze cross, a UD/Haze would bring the "90s" Back lol.
Respect
Well I am converting flower rooms into pollination rooms to help increase production. I am also going to seed my whole outdoor crop this year and so there will be some serious dank and new lines popping. My question for you all is..... What are you all most interested in?
I plan on filling my indoor room and all my ourdoor with Underdawg mother cuts. I have a choice on how to go about the initial phase of breeding. I have two Ideas, first I can reverse the Triangle Cut and hit her to the Underdawg. Or I can work a nice male from my BX2 line and hit the underdawg again. What do you guys want to see?
We are also going to continue working on my BB x Underdog OG which as you old timers know, I did the initial F1 5 or 6 years back and they were phenominal. I get hit up everyday to start working that line into perfection. And that BB is DJ Shorts actual BB mother breeder he uses on his BB line to make beans, so rest assured sees the real deal.
The Abomidable Snowman will be worked, but she has a little work that needs to be done. There are some gems in there for sure, but there are still some more sativa lanky phenos thast all need to be bred out. But expect a nice variation with some very special plants popping up, you will have to pheno hunt with this stock until I can refine it more.
I also have some OLD SCHOOL genetics that I intend to bring back. I have my UD x Vietnameese Black, I have ChemD x Columbian Gold, I have a few other sativa goodies if anyone is interested in me working some sativa bloodlines.
We have our Silver Bubster that is a great representation of Bubba Kush which will be worked this year.
In the course of the year we have also acquired some old school genetics, like The real Cough, The real Old school BB cut floating in the early nineties predating DJ Short, also got a hold of the Daywrecker cut, also am acquiring the old school early nineties Afghani that smell of pine tree sap, not thios sweet sting ghani phenos which is all you see these day. We also acquired that super dank Durbin Poison pheno floating around which is super dank. Also have a few other very very promising cuts on there way which will blow all your minds. All these genetics are of the older school varietals as my main goal is to introduce old school genes back into the gene pool after amsterdam fucked up all the works and bottleknnecked and inbred everything. Its time to introduce the word dank back into the weed conversation and it is coming folks.
Any and all opinions are welcome and would love to hear your input.
i have a federation hawian sativa tropical punch funk i thought i was the only one that liked it lolHell yea brother. I dont know how many were arond in the early early nineties, wehn ther was a gun metal blue, rock hard, massive resin and smelled straight up like BB muffind. It was in circulation many years befor DJ even showed up to the scene. This is the real deal BB, not from DJ Short. Now if I could find a cut of Federations seeds Hawaiin Sativa, that was dank. That was like smoking herb for the first time, all giggles and heppy positive vibration....great fucking smoke. I lost my mom, and now no more seeds. Its such a shame to see all this dank just slowly dissappear.
And even the real deal BubbleGum....not the TH seeds Bubble gun which seems to me to be much more NL dominated, the real Bubblegum was great work and could use some breeding work to modernize here. So much good shit out there....Its just a matter of getting it. Im also working on a very reliable source that has the roadkill pheno, I havent finalized out deal, but rest assure seriously big things are in the works. We might even be hooking up with some other folks that were at the Spanabis cup and we hit it off pretty good. They have full breeding faculities and the whole infrastructure to produce in mumbers so Inm hoping to get production up so we dont have thissmall batch releases anymore and give people much easier access to our work. So between spring planting, prepping properties and dirt, setting up drip systems, seed projects and flower projects for our clubs from frisco to L.a> and we are corporatizinf right now so we are incredibly busy. Im basically up now cause Im still on a high from the Mecca Cup and have whole new ideas to implement and business partnerships to work seeds together in bigger volumn. Doing all out corporate paperwork and putting in Federal trademarks for all out logos under an apparel company so we can get a fed trademark has kept me supper busy. I just went through about 30 emails and have 10 left, I plan on getting to you guys as soon as I can. Take it easy folks, and look forward to all your input.
Loompa:)
loompafarms should def. come out with; and correct a huge strain flaw that bothers me. ive smoked a strain called three kings (clone only) and it kind of reminds me of the UD or a real sour headband.. its sour d x og back to sour d opposed to most HB crosses which is og kush x sour d back to sour d. where on gods green earth did they get the "three" from i see 2 different strains.
im currently running a cross of you guys' UD x a strain from a icmag member called chem d x menage a trios' aka chem x mat(home brew pollen chucking ;) ) and it got me thinking.. to me three kings was a great strain but needs a name revision or something; and a strain that contained og kush genetics x ecsd genes x chem (91,d,4) would of made more sense to be called three kings (or queens)
so if you guys can create this and possibly substitute the og kush for your UD mix it with some chem and ecsd .. let us know when the testers of this come out (me as #1 candidate) and as well as the finished product!!!!!!!!!
Amen brother. You know whats up. Man I salivate just thinking about those lost phenos and genetic diversity that we used to see. Of course I can't do everything, but I can do my part when I can. And trust me man, Im looking forward to seeing those piney ghani's again more than you can know. That was some dank..oh man, so many dankness is all gone. And it still irks me that skunkman says he has old backstock beans with roadkill genes but since he's not interested in working them, he's gonna let them rot.
imho loompa he prob doesnt have them i mean what kind of statement is that im not interested in rks breeding lol i mean yea right, and if he does oh well they are surfacing in other places bodhi has a rks line and so do a few other breeders stems stink with a little rub and are crazy fire , but they need tamed there outdoor strains and from what ive seen and herd lose the skunk for a more garlic burning rubber smell but who knows maybe the right ones havent pooped up i herd tom hills northern indians had the gene also but low to almost no germ rates.
Right on,what happened to the day when you did do hybrid and they all came out relatively close to everything. Size, shape, taste , and the whole shmear. They were all consistant. Hybrids to hybrids IMO should not really be done. Don't know what the hell you're gonna come up with?as said it seems most varieties today are hacks from anothers find of yesterday........................whens the last time you got a worked seed line that breeds true for advertised traits..............takes too long and too little interest when the latest hyped cut is the rage......so just hack on the poor gal and get to all those who have no access to cut.....and of course the pic advertising the seed line is the mother cut used in X......and how often will one see the cut in a outcross..........so now on to S1's......surely more consistency, but has it's drawbacks for those purist..........instead of all the shuffleboard tactics why not introduce original parent lines ..........unfortunately most are extinct ..........surely those who travel the globe in search of the fresh stock are doing us all a favor, but even the most remote regions have been infiltrated by the gringo and rarely offer the nostalgia of yesterday................so here we sit today wishin' for what we don't have............and i'd be the first to say I want Pepe'Le Pew back............and what a dumbass I was in not keeping around.....
I know.....I'm outdated in todays thought about this plant and where it's going, but would be damn refreshing to see all of us dedicate one line of preservation................because in a short while your fav will be on the list of extinction...........
nothing personal to anyone just my observations/thoughts over the yr's.................
all the best in ones quest..............
ganj on...................
Ito clear that up when grown indoors they lose the skunky smell and also bodhi said his rks wouldnt hold flavor or smell through cure.
Also do u still have the herijuana cut that would be cool to see crossed to the bubbsters or maybe s1 it to the chem d
thats awesome i remeber getting single 1/8ths of that skunky bud when i was younger im so glad to here legit breeders have it and will hopefully have some real offerings of skunk and bring back the meaning of the name thats like the best news ive heard in awhile.Well the rks I am familiar with most certainly holds smell and flavor thru cure . I ll never forget the first time I fell in love with that unbelievable skunky smell. We would leave it outside the house and all the neighbors would be talking about the skunk on the loose. I worked extensively with the skunk 6 when I lived In Colorado. It was some skunky funk. Can't wait to get a full run of rks going
